  • Saturday, summer winding down

I'll open. For today there's the special Brazil Roast from the local coffee roaster. Blueberry and Bran muffins, butter, apple butter, honey, strawberry jam. For protein, scrambled eggs and for cholesterol, bacon. Some fresh berries (get them while they're still available) at the end of the bar.

The nice weather in SE NH continues (and That's A Good Thing, since we still don't have a service appointment to fix the A/C.)

I'm still in shock after hearing about Dave Husman. That's another big loss to the early rail community, and the modeling community at large. I'll have to find something on the railroad to name after him.

Sun and nice again in Michigan this morning.

Going to get hot Sun-Tues with more humids coming as well.

Everyone enjoy the day, be well. Beach time for some? Not here. 1:1 continues.

A bit warmer this morning in the 60's -- back to the the heat later this coming week.

Dark Choc & hazelnut coffee and a blueberry bagel......

Some home office time and then into the shop to puzzle out the parts for a stock motor project. Been a project box on the traction rack for many years and just sorting out the supplies in it was a chore. Now it's a matter of marrying up ends to stock car sides with parts in between, and finding some roof stock of correct width & configuration; too many unknowns in a single equation......just have to "fiddle about" until it I can make it "join together".....

Got football in the afternoon along with tennis finals into the night, and a library book to finish.

      So it goes...

Good morning to the entire crew. Thanks for opening the lounge this morning, Dave. After a week of fall like weather, it seems that we will now have a week of summer like weather We should hit the low 80's here today under sunny skies.

Outdoor work is on the agenda.

      Have a great day!

        Mornin,' All!

        73. headed for 84 under mostly cloudy skies here in the northern mitten, but it looks to me like both Dave and Bruce are correct in their observations. Forecasts say pushing 90 this week, but the neighbor's maple is orange on top, with denuded branches already and the lower portion gone from lush green to "spring green," some of mine both above and below the house are beginning to turn, and there's what I think is a Japanese maple down the road that is completely orange. It's coming....

Now that the bleeding has apparently stopped for real, I can get back to trying to hang in a new paper towel holder between the kitchen cabinet and the countertop. Shouldn't growl at the one that died... it was 30+ year-old plastic.... I really dislike working with slotted-head screws!

Make it a great day, All, and stay safe!

You're close enough to the border you could pop to Canada and buy a bunch of cheap square drive screws at a hardware/lumber store.

Maybe so, but three hours each way, plus time in line both directions, two major toll bridges, currency issues, gas, etc. make this impractical. I got the thing finished, or as finished as it's gonna get.... But thanks for the idea!

Good afternoon (barely). Another pleasant day so far, but things are heating up.

We have our garage sale going once again; we've made a few sales, including a set of cross country skis.

        Have a nice day.

Good afternoon, Dave and crew. We're having another nice day in the low 80's.

I started the day painting the ceiling, ran out of paint and went to Home Depot for another gallon. I got sidetracked with a stop at the train club, so I'm finally back home with no motivation to do more painting today. I'm going to do some 1:87 roofing.
