Calling this one done for now and sizing up the next in the queue. Got a bundle of O scale 2x10 red cedar to play with, too.

Thanks!

Next up.....starting from pretty basic stuff; some sticks, a pair of resin bolsters, and an A-frame chain hoist kit that's been in the box of bits on top of the rolling parts bin for way too long. Time to do something with it...

One basic car body built - a bit on the shorter side but that'll be part of its "charm",

Had a few brass stake pockets in the one parts bin that wanted using...

Martin, you're having far too much fun with these kits!

That green glow in the evening sky is not the proverbial "green flash" at sunset, it's envy from here....

Keep going!

Kits?

I think all on this topic have been scratchbuilds from the piles of wood and parts in my shop.

I actually have been building a few kits in the background if only to get them out from under foot - couple of All-Nation reefer kits that I tossed out some of the old castings, replaced with my own; swapped out ladders, and in the last one totally replace the entire car framing except for the pre-painted sides. Odd kit. Floor was shorter than the sides, and the roof was way longer than the sides. After I "adjusted" everything with the band saw, I did not like the look and so started over from scratch keeping the sides. The car body I did not like will become something, someday.

Yes, I erred. I should have put "Kits" in quotes.

Nice job, though, and it's reminding me that I have piles of ... ummmm... "old boxes with wood in them" stacked up all over.

Keep motivating us!

Got some sides done for the one end...using some of that red cedar strip wood wherever possible for this build.....
