I have been absent from the forum a few years focusing on other things but have still been busy.

I don't remember posting these picture of my sawmill project here. I produced my own plans for this but unfortunantly the layout of equipment was never right. I have come to far to go back now and correct it so this will see completion on a layout.

I have started a module that this will be situated on late last month and hopefully have some pictures in the coming weeks

I would appreciate that greatly if would do that. It looks about the right size for what I need.

Adrian, Nice to see you posting again.
Nice job on the framing, and look forward to seeing your progress.

I was thinking of canvas walls to protect from the elements on some of the sections. I have seen this on some mills in Australia and assume it was done in other places. I like mills for the interior detail but often the exterior details are just as interesting.

The structure certainly warrants interior lighting also but im focusing on laying track ect at the moment. I think a removable roof and finishing off the exterior for now will be a good leap in the right direction.

Bernd, I did make cad plans for this build. I can send them through when i dig them up (on another hard drive back up).

On a side note a lot of my inspiration come from Mark and Angela Fry's book on Tasmanian logging "On Splintered Rails". I believe volume 2 is at the printers now. The number of diagrams and full explanation of the whole process from selecting a tree through to milling the timber and exporting it. If your into logging its worth the purchase and the exchange rate is in favor at the moment.

Looks good from my house too.

I'll pop in once and a while to see how you're coming along. Somewhere down the road I'll want to build a saw mill also.

Adrian,

It looks pretty darn good so far and certainly worth completing. It will be a fine model.
