Rob very nice work on the roofing. I like the combination of shingles and tar paper.

Nice work James & Bruce.

Have started work on the other side extension.
The roof was made the same as the other one.
And again I've done a mix of shingles & tarpaper.






Painted & weathered.




Trial fit. Again, held on by sliding over a block attached to the wall.




Now to enclose the front of the ceiling section, and add gable trim, rafter tails & legs.

James your metal work looks great.

Bruce the drying house looks very nice. That's the best I have seen with the shingles nice and straight.

The sand drying house is done. I'm starting the last part of the build - the sand tower.

I've been looking in and admiring everybody's progress (but not telling you all, sorry). So I'll give a general Hurrah! Hurrah! Hurrah!

My HO brass PRR FM flat car reached a milestone tonight. I'm almost ready to tinker the trucks and couplers onto it:



Of course, after that I've still got to do stake pockets, grabs, steps, brake mechanism and piping etc...

Mike (M.): Unless you have a really good Hobby Lobby (I don’t), you’ll probably need to look online.

Mike (H.): You’re right on about “distinctive regional buildings.” There are very few kits that have that regional flair. So, I end up having to either scratchbuild, as with the seed house, or kitbash commercial offerings to give them a “Southernized” look. Does save me money on big box craftsman kits.

George: Ah got me a fr’en’ wa’ss name is Pete. That’s his front name, don’ recollect his behind name. But his CB handle is ‘RionB-17 or sump’n lak dat. He’s’ a fine man, a wondermous man, an’ he smart, too, Ah gawrontee! Rob, you do great modeling with 'the other wood'. So little used here in the States compared to Basswood.

Rob thanks I like doing different buildings. That's one of reasons I learned to scratch build. Even when I build kits I change things up a bit.
