OK, Here are some photos of where I am at with my layout. At this point most of the layout is pink styrofoam with track pinned to it. Only one small section is complete. I dont have scaning so I don't know how to add a trackplan. Photos in next post

WOW, I love the layout Roland. I haven't been very active on the forum for a couple of years(because I couldn't post and felt guilty about someone else posting for me). As luck would have it one of my best friends showed me how to post, and he ain't even a railroader. Now that I'm posting and checkin' out other peoples fine work, I decided to go back and check out all the shots of your layout, and quite a few shots of your project builds; you've got quite a few of those also. Anyways, I'm really impressed. Your attention to fine details is marvelous. Keep on strokin'...Kyle

Roland, your work is stunning. You have captured the essence of a small town and your modeling sets a high standard for us all.

Thanks everyone, I enjoyed your comments. I should say that after I decided on the name Hope I did a internet search and found that 47 states have a town by that name. The one that worked best is on Fox Island Off the coast from Tacoma Wash. It fit the area I am modeling but is entirely fictional.
Larry there is no Mayor because there is no local government, people just use common sense and respect one another. For the same reason there is no police dept. Again this is also entirely fictional.
Larryc I have been building models of one kind or another for 67 years now. It is just something I have always enjoyed. I do see lots of good ideas from some great modelers
on the forums and will try many of them in hopes of improving. I also hope I am able to inspire someone to try something new.
Again thank you all. Roland

Roland I read through your entire post and all I can say is WOW!!! You I would classify as a "Master Modeler". The scenes are fantastic and your attention to detail is beyond amazing. It was a joy to read through. Thank you.
Looking forward to more of your work.

What a great theme for your town, Roland. I would also live there, for sure!

Great looking town and back story.
Looks like a place I wouldn't mind retiring to.

Lovely name for a town and exactly the kind of place I would want to live. I hope you get to be the Mayor. The models are exceptional as always. I sure hope Covid ends soon so I can pay another visit. I can send you Asian and Native American figures if that helps fill in the mix.

I am getting close to finishing the town. With all that is going on in the country I have decided my town will be different. There are black and white people and no body notices. There are no rich or poor, everyone has a job that keeps a roof overhead and food on the table. On Fri night most go to Karla's Italian dinner and on Sun morning most go to church, when I get it finished.
The name of the town is HOPE
Still have to finish the church and add details.
Thanks for looking Roland

Always glad to see you again Arthur. Crohn's has no cure and after 40 years of it things are starting to get old.

Always a delight to see this thread active and to see progress.
What happened with the hospital stay? Hope everything is okay now, Roland.
