A friend asked if I were willing to built an old kit he bought off the Internet. It's an old Alexander kit of a B&O tower that sat in Indiana.

Here is the box:

The contents:



This will be a challenge to build, as I will explain in future posts.

Thank you, Greg. It does seem to be going quickly. The weather’s been cold so I’m spending more time indoors modeling. Plus, I’ve done the easy steps. The roof and trim will slow me down.

Thank you James, Larry, Mike, Rob and Scott.

I painted the walls inside and out, figuring that with the numerous large windows I should use green for the interior. The windows and doors are primed and painted. And, I’m working on the roof.



I’ll be working on the roof and glazing the windows.

Mike. It's not called a Challenge for nothing.
I'm sure you'll have no worries sorting out this rough kit.
I guess for some manufacturers, the quality just wasn't as high years ago.

I'll be following along. I see what Vic was talking about - the instructions show the 2nd floor door almost directly above the 1st floor window; in the pre-cut wood the offset is larger.
