Good morning James and the incoming crew! 68 and sunny headed for 80 and sunny. Nice to get a couple days break from the oppressive heat before it hits us again. Had a strong storm blow in yesterday morning with very heavy rain and wind. Our power flashed off and on once but that was it. One of the sister schools to the one I work at had to cancel everything and close yesterday due to their power being out. Their generator is temporarily offline so they had no backup when the power went out.

I was pretty happy with my retired officers concealed carry qualifying session yesterday. I scored a 29 out of 30. The one I missed I knew was no good as soon as I pulled the trigger. I felt myself jerk the gun just as I went started to pull the trigger and immediately knew that perfect score wasn't happening. Oh well, try again next year.

No big plans for the weekend. Need to work on the class I'm taking and probably spend a lot of time outside too. Hope you all have a great day!

Good morning Jim and the rest of the crew. It is 56 and sunny here in S.E. Michigan. We might reach 70 later today. Yesterday was a windy one as the warm and cold fronts jockeyed for control of the weather.

A little yard work this morning and some modeling time this afternoon is the plan.

Really nice cool morning here; pancakes and serenading birds....too nice to spend it in the shop or office so it's in the garage working on stuff and another hopper that needs stripping down to the metal....... Potted up cactus cuttings; watered the banana plants and squash; they need more dirt in their planters and maybe some grass clipping mulch to keep them from drying out.

Newest issue of the mag arrived, too! Thinking of revamping the entire ToC plans for 2023 to slip in a neat 1st issue of 2023. Maybe if it rains a bit that will get me in front of the keyboard on that task,

Thanks James for opening. A pancake and 2 strips of bacon would be great. Not much on my agenda today but I would like to get some more of the yard done. For me using the weed eater, Terry finished the front lawn yesterday for me. 1st time for her on a mower since we sold the Campground in No. Central Wisconsin in 1986.

Sun, 60s and low humidity make for a happy day…until had to go to the bank and have a unknown $24 charge/debit card disputed. They Canx the old card, made me a new card and froze the $24 as fraud.

Going to step grandson’s grad open house today. For the parents. Kid is “mute” as far as I know.

Trimmed trees and went to a couple garage sales yesterday. Very Breezy, low humid nice day.

Good morning James, Ken, Bruce and the incoming crew. My 4 hour nap after the cardio rehab session, screwed up my schedule. Finally hit the snore shelf at 0300. Thanks for opening the lounge, the coffee, and excellent breakfast.

That 'job' at Seashore sounds like a mix of work, fun, and a lot of thinking cap time.

Yep, 8th grade graduation ain't what it used to be. In my day, it meant the end of a mile walk to school, to a half mile walk to the bus stop, then a 45 minute ride on the CTA bus. Being a 'High School' Freshman in a class of 5,000+ was not fun. By the time we finally graduated, just over 3,000 finished high school. Many of the girls had to get married, many of the guys just quit and ended up getting drafted. At just turning 16, I was too young for the draft, too young to get a driver's license, and the scholarship I had to ITT was a two hour one way bus ride away. I ended up working at Zenith Radio as an apprentice modelmaker in the engineering dept. The seemingly only good thing was I that went from 5'3" to 5'10" in the year after high school. A city Junior college was enroute to work, and the trolley buses ran a decent schedule at night. I 'beat' the draft by enlisting in the Navy. Failing the stereopsis (depthperception) test at 700 mph disqualified me for the NAVCAD program . (/ancient history)

Some clown stole my Dad’s IDent 2yrs after his death. Ran up $10k unchallenged as my mother kept hanging up on the fraud section..only after I opened a letter from them that I was able to get aware of it and had it all wiped out…real scumbags even managed to pull off Sears replacing card in their suburban Motown address. Cameras, plane tickets and food…fun couple of weeks. Strange as he’d been gone 2 yrs and was deep in Alzheimer’s for prior 5 at least. We had never cancelled it as it was yrs inactive.
