Wonderful job Larry!! Remember the first thing people see on a model is the roof.
    And yours came out great!!

Michael thank you for the nice comments. I agree a roof can make or break a model.

Rick thank you. Tweezers and toothpicks have become my new best friends.

Jerry thanks and your right; sometimes I tend to forget that fact.

As the others have said, Larry, the shingles are the cream on the top of the model.
Your shingles look perfect in my opinion. Good work.

Rich thanks for your kind words. Have to add some trim boards to one gable end then the
real fun stuff begins; adding all the detail parts and scenery.

Scott and Philip thank you so much. It was a little easier than the Cutters Shack; either
that or I'm getting used to doing it.

With a few days of rain the outside work came to a halt which gave me a
chance to get a little more done on the Repair Shed:

Before I went too nuts on gluing things in place I wanted to dress the diorama up a little bit. So I started looking around the
garage for some kind of narrow thin wood to go around the foam; I only wanted to buy wood as the last resort. Finally I came
across some slightly used paint stirrer sticks, about six in all. This fit the bill perfectly so I brought out the miter box and went to
town. The sticks are glued on with Dap foam construction adhesive opposite sides at a time then allowed to dry for 24 hours. I
decided to paint the wood with a dark color so the actual diorama would pop. Came out pretty good and the scenery material will
go right up to the wood to kind of blend it into the scene.

Even though I'm using Brian Nolan's diorama as inspiration, there was one thing that he had that I just had to add to mine. The
"pot bellied" stove is a casting from Berkshire Valley which was blackened then buffed. The stove pipe came with the casting
which was also given the same treatment. Brian's stove pipe came out the front of the shed whereas mine will come through the
roof. Also in the background is a gas pump that I'm working on.

That's where I'm at for the time being. Now that the foam has been jazzed up somewhat I can start to get some things in place and
proceed, when time permits. As always thanks for looking.

                    Larry,

The way y0u dressed up the edges looks good. You can never have too many stirrers laying about. They occasionally come in useful for stirring paint.

The pot bellied stove is a winner of a detail.

Mike thank you. Actually I have one stirrer stick that is probably twice the thickness with years of paint layers
from using just that one....want not waste not. Ya I really like the way the stove turned out.

Larry, great use of those stirrer sticks.
Stove looks good and I see you used one other detail Brian used a lot.
                        The gas pump.
Maybe you'll get some more rain and we'll get another update soon.

I guess I'm not checking in as often as I should Larry. Fantastic progress. I can only echo all before me.

Rick thanks. The sticks worked out well and the best part.....Free. There are a couple of things
Brian used that I'm going to use also. A fueling area; after all you can't fix tractors without gas
and oil. Also I think I'm going to build some sort of hoist at the end of the track. Oh yes and my
version of a short tool car to sit on the track. Everything else will be my vision.

Louis thanks for stopping by and for the nice comment. Don't feel bad I to tend to forget there're
other forums besides this one as well.

Larry great work on the details. Like Rick said the gas pump was one of Brian's signature pieces.

                              Your doing some wonderful work.

                                Larry,
As has been mentioned, nice use of paint sticks. The stove looks great, as well as the pump!
Like that blackened then buff technique.
