Good morning all! The lounge is officially open. Since this is my first open for a while, we have your choice of pancakes with bacon or sausage, biscuits with sausage gravy or French toast with bacon or sausage. Coffee of the day is Caboose Stove and it's ready.

72 with 100% humidity on the way to sunny and 99 degrees with expected heat index of 102. Gonna be miserable outside the next few days, maybe longer. Hoping to spend as much time indoors as possible. The electric company is putting out warnings that it may not be able to keep up with the demand this week. Could be a pretty rough one for a lot of folks.

I found out last week I only need to take 4 classes to get my Associates degree. I quit college 35 years ago to join the police department and have always regretted not going back and getting my degree, so I signed up for a class this summer and will do 3 more over the next two semesters so I can graduate Spring 2023. At age 56 the degree won't probably change my life to any degree but it's always been my goal to go back and get it and now is apparently the time. I spent a great deal of the weekend studying and catching up on my class. Going well so far and hoping to keep it that way. Finally took time off from that late yesterday to grill out hamburgers, hot dogs and corn on the cob. Good eatin'.
