Good morning from Indianapolis. I rolled in shortly before midnight for the convention. No real need to go outside and my room faces a wall so I’ve no idea what the weather is like.
I’ll be giving a clinic later today. I got my excess stuff in the sales room, so that’s done. I’ve spent most of my time catching up with old acquaintances.
Good morning, all, forecast claims my bit of NH will reach 70F so I'm wearing shorts and a tee shirt. Yesterday was a good day; while contractors at Seashore slotted concrete to correct (one of) someone else's mistake, I was able to fix what was probably our worst rail joint (in trolley track with restraining rail, so pictures only if someone is curious). And it only took me a couple of hours, including thinking. Had the builders invested those two hours, they would have saved at least man-weeks of derailments and consequences between then and now. Contractors are taking today off, so I'm taking care of business at home.
It's a glorious 53, feels like 51 and headed all the way to 56 under the ubiquitous grey blanket here in the northern mitten. May rain. Or not.... Just opened a window, realized that today's coffee offering might be better with Switch Heater Blend or anything else containing Warmth, in the second pot, and immediately closed said window. Good day for the workbench, but the requisite errands here there and everywhere will take priority.
Had the Doodlebug rehab project almost ready for prime time, and in a discussion with the Unindicted Co-Conspirator awhile back we realized that the rear end of the car should be flat and not, as Bachmann gave us, rounded. Lots of teeth gnashing and brain spinning and finally a decision to break out the saw again, so that project, which was my "almost-wrapped Up 2022 Finish it Up Challenge" project, is still well underway and off the Challenge board. But... I'm not happy with what I have now, and this will resolve that issue nicely. I need some Bench Time!
Sunny & cool in SE NH. NO COMPLAINTS Yesterday I put all my (Az Rock & Mineral) ballast packages into a heavy duty storage container. One of these days I'll get back to scenery...
Good morning from cloudy S.E. Michigan. Rain is supposed to start shortly as temps rise from 49 to 56.
The trip to the barber shop was a bust yesterday because .... I forgot that he was closed both Monday and Tuesday. I will head back there this morning.
Bonnie and I have our annual 'Wellness Visit' this afternoon. What happened to the old term "Annual Check-Up"?
BBQ can be quite good but, or is it butt….some don’t quite hit the target. One popular drive up joint near here, next to the GTW/CN tracks is called WhistlePig…. I’ve never tried it but seems to be popular, only Fri and Sat. An ole’ boy has a Saturday pop up set up 3 miles up from me. My son likes it. Again, never made it there…
