    Friday morning lounge

    Good morning crew, readers, and lurkers, from 60f-85f Sunny N.E. Indiana. The coffee urn is READY with Yardmaster blend. Today's special is Buckwheat pancakes, smokie links, and an Alfalfa sprouts garnish. Oatmeal or Farina at the end of the line with the other beverages.

    I took a series of photos yesterday to continue my photogrammetry experiment. After 3 hours of processing, I got something that looks like it should, but my photography needs a little more refinement.

    R&R didn't work out, as I ended up at the fitness center with a few more projects the gardener came up with. I don't believe cardiac rehab would be tougher, than the local fitness center.

    Today #1 son will be here shortly to take down a tree, and chop it into luggable pieces. (not by me!)

    Back from my road trip through Vermont. It was a great day for it, sunny and warm (with the A/C on in the car.) Both of my college buddies talked about stacking wood for the winter, one relies almost exclusively on wood heat (and he lives in the coldest part of the state.) I came home to a $1100 oil bill, maybe I should start stacking wood, too! We also talked a lot about Ukraine and the economy.

    It'll be unseasonably warm this weekend (ugh!), but the sun should bring out the leaves. Until yesterday, we had a bit of a cool spring and I think the leaves are behind by a couple of days.

      Well, Jim, that's definitely a debatable point. We agreed, though, that a recession is likely until Ukraine is resolved (and that's probably a couple years off.) The Ukraine war's impact on energy and food/fertilizer markets is significant, particularly coming on top of the pandemic. But all this is probably off-topic for this group.

    Good morning Jim, Dave and the inbound Crew. Both of you guys had interesting days yesterday. I bet that was some interesting conversation yesterday Dave. Jim, small steps in cardiac rehab and any other physical re-hab. I am shocked the Doctors let you in the fitness center this soon. They gave you a work out plan, right?

    Built some more wire tree armatures yesterday and will finish off the reel of wire today either on the deck or in the cave, depending on weather.

    The Broadway touring play we saw last night I did not enjoy. If interested, head over to Geezers Lounge for the story.

    I drooled per Terry as we had to drive through campus last night at 10:30 on the way home. The tests are done and move out is this weekend. The campus bars literally had lines for blocks and the kids were partying big time. The temperatures were in the 80’s and the ladies clothes were kind of skimpy. Yes, I qualify as the dirty old guy, it felt great! Terry laughed a few times at me.

    Rain........maybe it'll dry out so I can paint later today, but.......no yardwork today -

    Got to get prepped for tomorrow's NMRA clinic; there's a few hours spent.

    Dave -- get that wood in and under cover for next winter now. You have all this year to get it together. Even a little takes the chill and damp off. What I split this week is good for a weekend.

    Might get into the shop and do some decal work yet today if I can get some focus; pair of tank cars to do.

    Mowed the front yesterday and my bright orange azalea is in full bloom; nice. Dark red-orange one is about to follow. Never did replace the bright yellow one. The scotch brooms are trying to bloom, but this might the last year for both; lot of dead sections in them that I'll have to take out.
    In a time like ours seemings and portents signify. Ours is a generation when dogs howl and the skin crawls on the skull with its beast's foreboding.

      Good morning Jim and the rest of the crew. It is 65 and heading up to 85 under sunny skies here in S.E. Michigan. The leaves here burst into their glory this week and my allergies burst into its glory also.

      The tonneau cover I ordered for the new truck came in, so we'll head over to our son's house this evening to install it.

      A little modeling as time permits.

        Sun allergies and heat here. Yard work also seems to derail the sensible rate of exercise planned….just been ‘suggested’ that I run the mini-tiller in area at the end of the house. I’d rather spray it but better ideas can’t be dismissed…

        Lots to do…wait til mid day when it’s 85.

        Fun day all, be well. Stay safe, hydrated and naps are allowed….some where.

          Good morning. Another sunny day in the Mountain State; maybe the last for a few days. We do need rain. I have some yard and garden tasks that must wait until the ground is not so hard and dry.

          Meanwhile, I have no big plans for today. Maybe trim shrubs, visit the hardware store for stain, that sort of thing. I have an NMRA meeting around dinner time.

            Good morning guys, and all incoming crew. Thanks for the chat and cup of brew Jim. It's the best way to start the day off.

            62 degrees and cloudy here in Rhode Island today. May 13th already and just reaching at least the 60's.

            I've got the parts for a Critter build now, so maybe I can start if off in the next few days here on the RR-L Forum. I ordered a part online and you all know how that goes these days.

              Good morning, Jim and crew. Tidewater Virginia has rain showers in the forecast, so my chores will be limited to indoor work.

              I resoldered one of the points on my switching layout. a couple of my cars didn't like it. O need to do more running today.

                Afternoon, All!

                It's 87, headed for 91, sunny and clear in the northern mitten, and the counting mechanism on the Forums still shows the last post in the General Forums section and the Crew Lounge as Rick's on the Suncoast Center from five hours ago. Somehow the eight posts and three comments showing here as more recent on this page don't seem to count. Hmmmmm....

                Leaves have popped here as well, and the lack of energy downstate has apparently reached up here, too. Maybe I'll just watch the Coast Guard helo practice over the Bay.... <yawn>

                  Jim, sorry I misunderstood yard work and fitness center!

                  Pete, we get F-16’s practice bombing our back 40. That’s my theory. Beautiful sight the planes of freedom. Those CC rescue copters must be a neat sight?

                  Karl, are the powers that be ever wrong? Enjoy the tilling. I had a 6” wide tiller in No Central Wi. Worked great in the raised beds but bounced off everything else

                  Well, the sun has just sunk into the hills of Leelanau County, leaving a lovely afterglow and a bit of real sunset, and with that, a Major Question having nothing to do with Jolly Round Red Mr. Sun. What's the preferred rattle can brand and color in the USA for duplicating "Railroad Tie Brown" these days? My several bottles of Polly-Scale RRTB have somehow vaporized. Interesting feat, given that I'm the only one here.... Slathering is not appealing to me right now, mostly because I just took my grill apart for a parts replacement, and the cleanup took about twenty minutes shy of forever....

                  Thoughts?

                        Mostly Atlas Flex track with hand-laid turnouts on wood ties. Ventilation is so-so, and yes, I have a fan in the paint booth, which is in the next room.
