Good morning all, from 70f->85f N.E. Indiana. Winter to Summer in 2 days! The coffee urn is READY with Dispatcher's blend. The special is a short stack, sausage links, and scrambled eggs on the side. Oatmeal pot is gurgling, and all other beverages at the end of the line.

A little more reading about LCC, last night ... . 2 pages and the sleep fairy knocked me out. Maybe the 4 hours of outside activities in the yard yesterday had something more to do with it.

I found a cache of Athearn Blue Box engines that I need to sort through and decide whether to DCC them or give them to our 4H project kids. We have 14 kids in that endeavor. All are either building layouts (modules) or timesavers. Too bad the NMRA has moved more toward encouraging 70+ year olds than young folks to the hobby.

Sun’s up and seems fuzzy pinkish this morning 65 going to 85. Yesterday we had 83, I believe Made it to the neighborhood of 90 in Pete’s bailiwick off the bay…at one point it was reported the was some weather disturbance there and the temp dropped 30 degrees in 10 minutes.

Yard work and a trip for mulch, then the Doll had a Jones for a particular variety of hydrangea bush and a frantic round of phone calls to find one. Found one, $53 back the other direction from where we were. Today it’s going in the ground.

Looking forward to another nice day and more painting outside finally!

Maybe some gardening and hit that pile of leftover logs again. The Scotch brooms did not fare well through this winter; might end up replacing the one - have to see how it does after I clear out the rest of the dead parts. Sage plant is a major weed now; hit it with the hedge trimmer just to subdue it.

Good morning Jim and the rest of the crew. It is 65 heading to 85 here in S.E. Michigan. Other than sitting on my Kubota mowing, I have decided to take a day off from any other yard work to let my muscles calm down.

Wild bird seed is on sale at my feed store, so a "stock up" trip is in order either today or tomorrow.

Good morning from a heated up Wisconsin. During the sleep break at 5am it was 73f degrees. Now at 7:30 CST it is 77 heading to 93.

2 morning Farmer Markets to visit. Much better visiting in shorts then the Winter gear the last 2 Wednesdays.

Karl, the chase for something the Spousal Unit must have, such a familiar story.

Jim, totally agree with you. Glad you have the youth group to hand off the BB’s to.

I put up the entrance aisle lift out section on the layout for maybe the 2nd time in 3 years yesterday. I finished replacing and adding new LED’s to 2 Athearn Genesis GP38-2’s yesterday morning. Added rear ditchlights, step lights and deck lights and changed to Led the front ditchlights and the front and rear headlights. It is so simple using the NixsTrainz decoder buddy. I also changed out the ESU decoders to Tsumani2 with added keep alives and changed the speakers to Scale Sound Systems. I started in February so finally… put them on the layout and let them run together for 30 minutes in each direction and then changing the lead locomotive and doing it all again. Today or tomorrow I hope to pull them apart and redo the lubricants and clean everything up again.

I have now converted 4 locomotives this way. 2 more to go, my GP40-2w’s also Athearn Genesis. I have soured on ESU sound decoders only because they need so much tinkering with either a EsU Lokprogrammer that I will not buy at $150 or the JMRI that I have no Window based computers to run on. We only have 2 IPadPros and IPhones in the house and again JMRI will not work on them. Since I sold off my 3 ProtoThrottles I no longer need to play seemingly every day with CV’s and working with buddies to do it. It became real difficult during Covid, so I switched.
I also have given up the idea of going back to RailPro.

Only 50 degrees and cloudy here in Rhode Island today. May 11th already and still looking for warmer temps.

I've got a Critter build in mind so maybe I can pull if off in a few days, and start a critter build on the Forum.

64, grey blanket, headed to 79 or so, but not dripping in the northern mitten right now. Had an interesting pink and white light show last night, but no rain there either and the lightning stayed well away, which was good.

Today is a blood draw day to check on the rat poison; this afternoon we get to load the second schooner with the schoolship science stuff. Tonight's Op Session is now under discussion, as the county is in Covid Condition Red, and that is not good. Only red county in the state, which is bizarre. Thrill a minute around here....

Good afternoon, Jim and crew. I spent the morning at the airport USO. Next is a walk. We're in the low 60's, strange to be cooler than you guys up north. I keep planning to spend some time in the train room, but I seem to be easily distracted. I'm going to try again today.
