One of our girls is also exploring new opportunities, the new head of her adv dept has run off about 2/3 of the folks she works with, is a real SOB and she feels they have little recourse as their boss was best man in the agency’s director’s wedding…so…lots of greener grass this month…

Sun and somewhat warmer, perfect day except for a Doc appt at 1:30 Cinco-de-MAYo, need some burritos with chorizo and cheese to add to the Canadian bacon, make it a NAFTA Day!, travel the CP/KCS all the way..si’?

Mower worked yesterday. Second time. Gas at $4.43 so might look into the No Mow May concept I just saw a hint of in local news from my home town…probably better with no feel good bs, do what’s necessary. Warm and fuzzy concept, makes more work and use more fuel to fix it from the neglect at the end of the month. Let mine go 3 weeks and get the hay bailer.

Hope all goes well with TomO today.

Gotta run, spif up for the new saw bones. Ole Doc Joe gave up the steep uphill fight against, ‘them’ better dig out a diaper to put on my face…

    Be Well, everyone.

Have fun with the new truck, Bruce. No trips to Silver Lake until after the first oil change…

I posted a link to an interesting take on the Surface Transportation Board meetings mentioned in yesterday’s lounge thread for anyone interested in the railroads current status. (Link Wednesday lounge)

Off to coffee with a couple of other model railroaders. It's been happening for several years and I really enjoy it. I'll have to pass on the breakfast as the bakery/coffee shop where we meet has a great choice of treats. Then it's off to lunch with the two daughters. Youngest one is starting a new job in medical marketing. The clinic she was at just kept adding more hospitals/clinics etc and her boss just kept adding to her stack of stuff. A few others in her department have also been exiting or sending out resumes. Another work from home set-up which she really likes.

TomO- best wishes for today's procedure.

    Have a good one everybody.

Today threatens to be nice.......just so tomorrow can yank the rug out from under the feet, so I'm just not planning much of anything.

Peppers and tomatoes are in and the elephant ears are in the ground. Peonies are out of control; they get done this year, I've got to break them up.

Bringing the cacti outside from their plant room. Probably induce snow.

Back into the shop today after I run a few errands....library, bank, grocery.

    TTFN!

Today's the last day of Geology class, I'll sit and watch the other student presentations. It was an interesting set yesterday, I learned a lot.

Then once home, if I'm still motivated, I'll head down to the train room and do some pick-up/put-away. A couple days ago, I found the box of spare castings (Tichy/Grandt) that I knew I had, but couldn't find for a couple of months. sigh...

Good morning, Jim and later arrivals. The NH seacoast is sunny and headed for the mid-60s, and I'll be off for Seashore shortly. I did actually start a long-delayed project on my layout the other day, but I'm thinking I may have placed the poles too close together. Back to it Saturday, I expect.

Good morning Jim and the rest of the crew. It is 37 degrees and heading up to 60 later under mostly sunny skies.

I mowed the lawn for the first time yesterday - and so starts the season. Our new truck is in, so we will pick it up this morning. Probably some yard work after we get home. Any modeling will be in the evening.

Tom, our thoughts and prayers are with you.

    Have a great day!

started a topic Thursday morning lounge

    Thursday morning lounge

Good morning crew, readers, and lurkers from 45f and drizzling with 90% rain today N.E.Indiana. The coffee urn is READY with Getoffyerduff blend. The special is a Strawberry/Cream Cheese stuffed waffle, with a slice of Canadian bacon. Oatmeal pot and all other drinks at the end of the line.

Well, yesterday was reading and searching the internet for info on DIY 3D scanning, and similar methods. A lot of alleged tricks to accomplish that, with a lot more 'in theory' blurbs. I ended up playing with "photogrammetry". Basically, a series of rotated photographs of an object, that is becomes a 3D image. No lasers involved. What's cool about this process, is that you could have a model, say holding a shovel, broom, sledge hammer, etc. and end up with a ready to print model. The trick of course is to have the model stay reasonably still, while you either rotate your camera around it, or have a very large turntable to set it on. The software to do this. is just a tad complex.
I'll play with it on a much smaller scale today with a Jordan truck, I have my sights on.

The weather is certainly cooperating with indoor recess today.

    TomO good luck today!

    Have a Super day!
