Good morning Jim and the rest of the crew. It is 47 degrees and cloudy here in S.E. Michigan. High temps in the mid-50's is expected.

Since we spent 2 weeks in April on 'jaunts', I'm behind on spring work. In fact, the snow blower is still on the tractor. That is job 1 for today. I will mount the mowing deck after sharpening the blades. Some raking and weeding will follow.

Some modeling time after that is the plan.

“Good” morning from a boring, mind numbing day of yet another 100% cloud covered, chilly ~47 soaring to 55 day in wet Michigan. The iPad refuses to use the “G” word. ☁️ yielding to 100% ????(insert rain cloud icon) tomorrow and varying amounts thruout the next week.

I do have a project going in the barn and may need to mow if I can get past the damp chill. Been wearing lined pants much of the winter and that little layer of extra wind break is missed.

The Doll’s pal Sal says she has orioles today, we’ve not seen them yet but may set out some oranges and purple jel….when we have them they show up until early June and then search elsewhere for food. Speaking of birds, something left a big pile of feathers out by the feeder, looks like a pillow got hit by the mower. Coyote, ‘coon or feral cats all on the usual list of suspects. Our highlight in nature yesterday was the pack of 5 white tails that streaked across the side toward the back at supercharged speed as I walked up from the shop.

Well, off to projects. Brekkus is first….Jim’s buckwheats sounded Oh-Tay!

Mornin' All!

SSDD here in the northern mitten... looks and feels like early April out there, with 48 degrees, headed all the way to 53, grey blanket still on top and the fog on little cat feet creeping along on the Bay. The creeping part is accentuated by the Coast Guard helicopter thumping around on some sort of training exercise out there, probably continuing the hoisting drills from last week, when they could sometimes actually see what they were doing.... This can get very depressing over time....

Had a bunch of little setbacks on the Doodlebug last week, but think I have figured out what's goofy and how to fix it, so that's a plus. Pretty much ruined my Challenge Completion target of 30 April, though.... <sigh>

And after a look around, it's time to go try to fix the "Bug." Make it a great day, all, be positive, test negative and stay safe!

Good afternoon to all.

2:30 pm west Texas time heading to 95 degrees here and it is so dry the trees are whistling for the dogs to come by. It seems like any rain just bypasses our little town. Karl you can send down some of that "wet". The farmers /ranchers around here would be grateful.
Wrapped up a seven month "progress report" project on last Friday and finished up shop drawings on another small project over the weekend. I am hoping now to get back to working on bench work on my layout and finishing up a steam loco project rebuild and decoder install along with a couple of rolling stock projects. I will post some photos on my progress as time allows.
