    Friday Morning Lounge

    Good morning from sunny S.E. Michigan on this last Friday in April. It is 31 degrees and heading up to the mid-50's today.

    Breakfast is Ham & Eggs with a short stack of pancakes. Real Michigan Maple Syrup, of course. Our coffee is our Steam Dome Blend.

    Many chores awaiting, including fixing a hollow core door that lost its solid 'plug' at the bottom yesterday. It turns out that when the carpenter trimmed the bottom of the bathroom door to clear a thick marble sill, it left about 1/16" thickness left to the bottom plug. The glue finally left go. At some point we will head to the bank to deposit our tax refunds from the feds and state. We also did not receive our bill from the car lease this month (or it was lost in the two 'hold the mail' instances this month). So some quality time on the phone is on tap.

    The pancakes were good with some berry jelly and syrup, with a cup or 3 of coffee.......

    Still not moving all that good but getting stuff done. Got to turn the galley proofs around today before doing much else, or getting into my shop today.
    In a time like ours seemings and portents signify. Ours is a generation when dogs howl and the skin crawls on the skull with its beast's foreboding.

      Good morning, Bruce, Martin and crew. We have a covid test scheduled this morning. It's needed for a cruise that departs on Sunday. It's a "girls cruise". Short story, Pat doesn't have a roommate, so I'm filling in. I have MR, Narrow Gauge Gazette and Mainline Modeler CDs loaded on my laptop plus my Kindle app, so I have plenty to keep me occupied while the girls are off doing their thing.

        Good morning. Another beautiful northern WV day. Coffee hits the spot.

        I spent several hours at the club yesterday working on roadbed. I'll take a rest from that over the weekend and maybe work on my own layout.

        The lawn could use another mowing already. I was so slow to get out I had the mower set pretty high and I need to do another pass soon to get it down to looking good. I did pot some patio plants and will do more today.

          First mow here yesterday. Spending more time in the North is causing this place to suffer some, still, like Mike, I used a slightly higher setting this time.

          Just had a blood draw for physical next week. Hoorah

          Sun and chill here. No plans.

            I usually go celebrate my quarterly blood tests with a 'prohibited' restaurant breakfast :-)

            Good afternoon all! An exciting trip to the Cardiologist early morning appt. Kid looks like he's 19-25 year old range. He's the guy between the surgeon and the NP. I asked more questions than he had answers for, and I backed off. What we need is a "Dr. House", that can figure out what's up from head to toe. This modern medicine is so specialized, that if you were bleeding out of both ears and eyes, they'd ask for a urine sample. DIY medicine, gotta be your own advocate! Else they just send the proper code for their time to the insurance companies.

            Other than that, I'm trying to learn about LCC and keep out of the shop.
