  • Sun, 46 headed WAY up to 56. Forecast icons show clouds and 0% rain. FROST warnings tonight, FREEZE warning to the North. Looking at the light low clouds out the front the wind is from NNE at 10-15.

Trip to Co$tco was expensive. Drive across Lansing to E of E. Lansing was exhausting. Not impressed with the place that much. Some good deals on things for a family of 5-10, but no place at home to store it. Good looking meat. Not worth a 50 mile round trip to save on gasoline.

No big plans to do anything remarkable today. Could change but not likely.

Everyone have a good day. Be well, stay safe Rick enjoy the 86, Tom, watching the storm progress. Stay safe. We have friends here with a winter place in Ft Myers that are concerned. Cousin in Jax has lived there 75 yrs and this is what they do from time to time. Best to all in the SE. Mike enjoy the gardens.

      • Good Morning,

Mike thanks for the coffee and breakfast. Enjoy the different gardens; they sound wonderful.

Rick nice to hear the dog is really enjoying the adventure. Good luck figuring out Part B; it gets
        rather confusing. Stay safe.

Louis the days of me running around to get stuff done is over and stuff still gets done; maybe not
as quickly but it does get done.

Tom O enjoy and the your trip and the food. Triple D has helped a lot of food places over the years
get " on the map" sorta speak. Happy Birthday to you and Terry!!!!

Karl we have a Cosco in Central New York but have never been in the place. Can't see paying a company
$ to shop in their store and who wants to buy a 50 ct. pack of paper towels.

Hope the rest of the Crew are well, especially if your in a hurricane area....above all stay safe.

A rainy 55 with a high of 59 here in New York. Tomorrow, finally, the weather is supposed to break....at
least that what the "weather weenies" say. Time to get the back of he garage done.

Have a great day and stay safe.

Karl, thanks for the well wishes. Ft. Myers is really getting hit this tie around. My plan is to work on the layout as long as we have power.

          • Good morning everyone.

Coffee, tea and sodas are ready.

Weather in Rapid City today: Increasing clouds, with a high near 88. West wind 5 to 9 mph becoming east in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 21 mph.
A nice day bit I could do without the wind.

            Keeping it brief this morning.
We're going to Custer State Park and want to get an early start.
Tomorrow too so I might not be here at all.

Hope all our FL members are safe.

            Have a great day everyone.

            • Good morning Rick and the rest of the crew that drops in later.

Rick, thanks for the coffee, enjoy your visit to Custer State Park.

Hope all our Florida members are safe.

Not much happening here, just experimenting with coloring the vellum I plan to use to make my machine belts. The original belts I made I colored with alcohol based markers an while they looked great at the time, they have faded over time. Recently I tried using a a paint pen but that just curled the vellum so much, that it is unusable to bake the belts with, I have a feeling paint will have the same result. I'm thinking my best bet is to use Sharpie permanent markers, don't have any here so will have to order some.

Have a great day everyone and be safe.

              • Good morning. The Urus and Epi-pens are packed but it seems the girls are not awake yet. The 8AM start looks to be in danger.

The weather here and in Ashland are pretty much the same.

1st stop is the leinenkugel Brewery in Chippewa Falls where the store and sample/tap room are open but no tours for us as they start at noon and now have a cost! The world has changed for sure.

We should hit Cable, Wi. around noon and hit a place that was on Drive Ins, Diners and Dives. My sister thinks this is nuts but if it was not for the TV program finding these places to eat, Terry and I would have passed up some great food, neighborhoods or towns. The sister has joined us for 3 places in the Chicago area and a couple in Indiana and has never complained about the food. We will after eating check out the town before heading up to Ashland.

Watched Tom Johnson of Oct. 2022 RMC cover fame showing the hurricane on his Facebook page approaching his neighborhood in St. Cloud, Florida, last night. This is his 1st hurricane as he lived in Indiana most of his life.

Rick, post when you can. Following your photos on Facebook has been great. You take great photos.

Guys, Terry does read this and thanks everyone for the concerns about her health and the birthday wishes. Thanks to all for my #70 wishes today. Best I have felt in years.

They are awake and at the coffee pot but no way will they be ready in 20 minutes. I dislike late starts

                enjoy the day

                • Morning All,

                  Rick thanks for the coffee this fine day. Enjoy you're time at the Park and the nice weather;
not so sure about the weather a couple of months from now though.

Jerry sadly the outside has been on hold due to the rain the last few days. Should be better
                  today.

Ron sorry the belts are being so difficult. I used a raw sienna artists paint on the belts I
made for my machine shop and had good results and no curling. The paint was water based
                  by the way.

Tom O Happy Birthday and welcome to the 70's. Have fun on your trip and be safe.

Hope everyone's well especially you Floridians.

A cloudy 48 with a high of 59 here in New York. Looks like the weather finally broke so hope
to whack away at the back of the garage today. A few more days and it should be finished.

Have a great day. Safe travels and be safe!!!!!

I hope all you guys in FL. are doing okay this morning.

Ron have you tried brown shoe polish the paste?? That's what I used in the mill it works pretty dam good.

Tom have fun up in Ashland today.

Weather in South Jersey sunny/54. Later on 68.

                    • Grey and chilly here in MI. The weather person says clouds are going away later sometime. We’ll see. It didn’t rain yesterday.

I went with the Doll yesterday and put some “L” bracket supports on some shutters she has to act as a defining wall for her antique booth, 6 shutters adjoined with hinges. Read a book in the evening.

We watched a bit of the disaster unfolding in Florida. Our good friends here are quite concerned, their winter place is near the beach in Ft. Myers. Pictures right now on tv are just amazing. Extraordinary amounts of water everywhere is astounding. Prayers to all. When I was a kid, my folks took my bro and I to stay a week right on the beach along A1A near St Augustine. My cousin had a small cottage he’d acquired…within a couple of weeks that place was erased, totally, by a major hurricane. Hurricane Dora was the first tropical cyclone on record to make landfall over the Atlantic coast of North Florida at hurricane intensity. 1964…couldn’t remember the name, but recalled The House of the Rising Sun by the Animals, was on the radio….WAPE, “the Ape” all the time while we were there…then googled the year, ‘64, to find storm name. Cousin became very wealthy in the real estate title business in the next couple of decades…his widow now lives RIGHT on the ocean in Boca Raton.

                      Happy 70 TomO
                      Sort of poetic like…

Rick, enjoy the warm weather. Custer was from Michigan. I went to college with a girl from Monroe, MI named Custer, an Army brat. Her father was George Armstrong Custer III or IV a career officer…Colonel I believe. She married a friend at the time. Haven’t heard of/from them in years. Gen. Custer had no kids so this bunch were cousins I guess. Big move back in Monroe to erase the General, then all will be right with the world.

No plans yet, work into the day slowly. I’ll check on a vehicle model I did some painting on. If the sun comes out, maybe some mowing? Too early to commit to it. Preliminary plans in my head on traveling North next week.

Be well all, Tom…hope you’re safe. Looks like my kinfolk in Jax may be in distress as will be many.

                      Later all.

We did get out of the house 55 minutes late but who’s counting? I am in the backseat relaxing. Gawd, those 2 can talk!

Terry’s best friend was going to house sit on Sanibel Island for one of her sisters most of November. The sister is now safe up in Gulf Shores but thinks her neighborhood on Sanibel Island may be gone. ABCNews has reported the bridges on the causeway out to the Island are gone. Not good.

Our friends with a trailer very close to the water in Ft. Myers we’re sent photos of their place, intact but there are 3 commercial shrimp boats sitting askew in their park wher 75% or more of everything is gone. Water is everywhere, year round friend there that sent pics…wiped out…
