  • Good morning Rick, Jerry, Louis and the rest of the crew that drops in later.

    Thanks for the coffee Rick.

Jerry, Unless Max decides not to do any more races this year and Charles wins the rest of the races, It's a done deal, Max will be world champion for the second straight year.

No modeling for me last night, watched the football game instead. My vellum that was supposed to arrive today is coming tomorrow instead.

    Have a great day everyone.

    • Do you know that you can still function during the day even without checking in at the Railroad-line Forums? Amazing!

We are home and my sister is here. Pulling some strings we got her a couple medical appointments but those are just to get the necessary visits to get the referrals to doctors she really needs to see. She is debating if she will join us on the trip to the Presidential Ford museum possibility next week. If medical interferes Mr. Ford’s museum will be another time for Terry and me.

I need to do an in-depth review of the past 7 days before I comment but the quick review of yesterday and everyone seems to be fine

Tom that reminds me of the locks in Maseena New York on the St. Lawrence River.

    • Morning Gents,

Rick thanks for the coffee. Safe travels to Jerry's.

Jerry enjoy your visit with Rick.

Louis have fun with the build.

Ron football season only comes once a year and you can model anytime...oops
did I say that out loud.

The rest of the Crew have a great day.

      A wet and rainy 64 with a high of 68 here in New York. Never did make it to the bench yesterday;
got distracted so maybe later on after I help the Mrs for a bit.

Have a wonderful day everyone and stay dry.

      • Sun here but cool, was 43o at 0530, going to ~70o with sun.

Ops was nice to do, spent most of the time switching out a town on the mid portion of the layout. Mike, Andy says hi.

Waiting for slow cook oatmeal. Then my project for the day is a corned beef briscuit i thawed out. Makes for a good dinner later. Tiny potatoes and carrots, no cabbage.

Rick, got to thinking when you mention “coming back”. When you cut the anchor chain like you are…just exactly where is “BACK” ?

        Later,

        KScrib in the mitten…

        • Good morning folks,

Rick, thanks for coffee. The AeroPress looks cool.

Jerry, I agree, the AeroPress looks too small for all of us.

Louis, are you steaming up yet?

Ron, good luck with the vellum delivery.

TomO, thanks for the photo. Is that an old light house in the foreground?

Larry, good luck getting to the bench.

Karl, glad the ops session went well. The corned beef meal sounds terrific.

Rest of the gang, what's up?

Started the day with a trip to the cardiologist for lab work. Next heading to post office to mail a couple of things for Sharon.

Planning on going to the Piedmont Division's monthly meeting tonight. It's on the northwest side of Atlanta, so a long trip. The clinician will be Joe Nichols, Jr., MD, MMR. Here's what he said when asked about his topic: "I am basically covering where I see model railroading going in the next 5 -7 years. Always a little hard to predict the future. "

          Have fun,

          • Good morning everyone.

Coffee, hot water for tea and a selection of chilled soft drinks are ready to enjoy.

Sunny, with a high near 81.

Mike, I'd be interested to learn what last nights clinician predicted.

            Karl, back to New Jersey.

            Larry, any distractions yesterday?

TomO said "Do you know that you can still function during the day even without checking in at the Railroad-line Forums? " that's blasphemy
Have fun on your next trip.

            Ron, vellum show up?

            Louis, what's today's plan?

Jerry, you'd be surprised how quick it is to make coffee with that thing.

Had another excellent get together with Jerry and Diane.
            Been up since 3 AM.
Took friends to the train station.
They're headed to Newark Airport and spending 3 weeks in Alaska and Hawaii.
Going to a friends tonight for dinner.
            Some paperwork to deal with.
Primarily getting my new mail forwarding address.
This is more involved than I thought it would be and I should have done this a few weeks ago.

            Have a great day everyone.

A bit of a haze in layers shortly before sunrise in MICHIGAN this morning. I’m glad not to be driving anywhere right now. Scariest part of having fog is the number of folks that don’t slow down when they encounter it. Sun and 70s the day’s guess.

Rick, I knew it is Jersey, guess I was just thinking in the abstract. a lot of that here… btw how does Mail forwarding work when you are moving around? One thing that concerns me when away for a couple weeks is missing something in the Mail, like that million dollar check from the government…most recent absence we returned to nearly 20 pieces of mail…18 of which were political advertising charities begging for more money, enough sometimes I regret giving to them in the first place.., auto or home repair scams or someone’s idea of how I should spend my money to help send their kid to school…like Trillion Dollar Brandon’s boondoggle…

I mowed yesterday….after prepping the corned beef.. while it took awhile to cook, it was quite good. There is some left for a sandwich sometime The grass was quite long in places, most places. Mike, that’s one…

The Doll has some plans with the granddaughter today. I’ll just sit on the curb and throw stones…

Everyone enjoy the day. Be well. Stay safe.

              KS in the fog….

              • Morning all,

I'm learning how to follow all the posts and updates on everyone and still learning names to the avatars.

Yesterday was a day spent with the Babe so no bench time for me. Well worth it though.

                • Good morning,

Rick, thanks for coffee. Good luck with the last minute details.

TomFL, indeed, a day well spent. Like the boxcar photo.

Karl, what do you do with the hay bales?

Hope all the later joiners have a great day.

Frosty at 56F this morning, but 81F later today along with bright a clear skies. Sadly, something came up and I was not able to attend the division meeting. I am going to find out if they recorded the clinic. Worked on the caboose yesterday, gluing the deck to the frame. I'll paint it later today and figure out how to hide some sheet lead inside the cabin.

                  Have fun,

                  • Good Morning,

Rick thanks for the coffee this morning. Somehow things just don't go the way you imagined....like the
new address....hope you get it sorted soon. I did actually make to the bench yesterday for a little while.
Up since 3am? Nap time later?

Karl that's some fine looking "pea soup" in the photo. If your going to throw stones just make sure there
aren't any "glass houses" around. No cabbage with the corned beef....now that's just wrong.

Tom nothing wrong with spending the day with your better half.

Mike sorry you didn't get to go to the meeting but you did put your time to good use. Photos soon?

Hope the rest of the Crew are doing well.

A partly sunny 63 with a high of 75 here in New York. After a haircut in a bit I hope to putter around with the garage
roof some more. I have 2 panels left to install so hope to be done in a couple of days if the weather cooperates. Sadly
I can only work on the roof a little bit at a time....it's the getting old thing I guess.

Enjoy your day and be well!!!

                    • Good morning Rick, Karl, Tom, Mike, Larry and the rest of the crew that drops in later.

Rick, thanks for the coffee. No vellum yet, supposed to be delivered today. Enjoy your dinner with your friends.

Mike, sorry you didn't make the meeting, but you did get some bench time so that's a win.

Karl, I have been driving through that soup for the last few days now, nothing like fog in the morning before the sun comes up.

Tom, nice picture of the boxcar.

Nothing happening here, have a great day everyone.

67 degrees, and partly sunny here in Rhode Island today.

More work completed on my new project, soon to post more results today. Thanks to all that made comments.

Everyone have a great, safe and healthy day. I'll see you all on the RR-L Forum.

Mike I hope they recorded it.

Tom good idea to spend some time with the other half.

                          Karl another picture.

Ron how come you don't use Tyvek??

Ron, my friends schedule changed (he works the list) and we had a very good lunch.

                            • Clouds here in Michigan with temp in 50s. “They” are calling for 780 later this afternoon.

I am off to get some weed n feed shortly. That will be the task for today. Yesterday I fabricated an extension to the hopper discharge lever on the spreader. I got to use the welder for something practical. It worked ok. I’m Pleased with the part I made.

The Doll made me some blueberry muffins for breakfast she’s been up since 5.

Rick, I read the mail service information. When they scan you mail and send those images to you are you able to “toss out” those you don’t want? When you do have mail sent, do they send it Gen’l delivery? Or do they need a physical location? So are you now a Texan or Dakota-un? How long does forward process take when you have you stuff sent? My local mail service here in Michigan sends me an email each morning of what is coming today…maybe.

Brandon calling his chits from the rail unions? Plenty of valid issues it seems, but seems lots of political aspects to the timing…

Enjoying the nice weather we’re having now. It does appear the sun is is going to be coming out, the clouds thinking as we “speak” here. The is some light sign of color change starting. The furry caterpillars have been on the move.

How’s the roof coming, Larry? Braver man than I to climb on roofs…never enjoyed climbing ladders and transitioning to the roof…made it up a few fire fighting.. I hired a guy to put the roof on the Doll’s garden shed years ago when I built that.

                              Well, the tasks await…
