  • Good morning everyone.

Coffee, hot water for tea and a selection of chilled soft drinks are ready to enjoy.

Showers and thunderstorms before 3pm, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between 3pm and 4pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4pm. High near 82.

Larry, hope you sell the mower quickly and you got some bench time in.

Karl, your experience with K-9 Wrangler matches mine with Star, just add rolling in the grass too.

Jerry, I'll need to start planning a trip to S. Dakota.

Tom, have fun on your day/overnight trips.

Louis, that screen is a necessary evil.

    What's everyone else doing?

Today starts my last week of work.
    Can't believe it's finally here.
I hear the dog barking so I need to go check on her.

    Have a great day everyone.
Follow along as my dog and I travel the country in our van.

    • Good morning folks,

Rick, thanks for coffee. Wow, one week to go. Time will fly I'm sure.

Lewis, I never thought about predators, yike! Friends have a nice one stocked the same but never hear about predators there.

Tom, how was the craft show?

Jerry, nice to spend time with grandson at the beach.

Karl, funny story of a spa trip for K-9 Wrangler.

Larry, good job organizing garage and fixing the old mower. Satisfying work for sure.

I guess Ron is in the Canadian wilds enjoying the weekend. Safe travels back to Verginny.

It is cooler today at 87F with rain forecast this afternoon. In fact, that's the forecast all week. At least it is not in the 100's like in Texas. Need to unload Lowes purchases and finish planting my herb garden. Fingers crossed the fence people will show up today. Larry inspired me to organize a bit in the garage and get items photographed to sell.

      Have fun,
      mike

      • Morning

Rick thanks for opening and the coffee.
Hard to believe we were just talking about you retiring the last time we were together and here it is!!
You flying out or taking the scenic drive?

Weather in South Jersey cloudy with showers moving in sometime today. Weenies aren't sure yet what time.
        Not a beach day.

Had a great time with grandson and his Dad and girlfriend.
He wanted to stay longer but that word work got in the way.

Well maybe I'll get to post those pictures this morning I've been talking about.

        Everyone have a wonderful day!!
        Jerry

        • Good morning Rick, Mike, Jerry, and all incoming crew. Thanks for opening up the lounge Rick. where is everyone again? Coffee, it is the best way as we all know to start off the day.

71 degrees, with cloudy, rainy skies here in Rhode Island at the moment. Going to rain heavier later today.

Mike I never had a problem with losing fish before. Now if it isn't racoons it is the crane's. They just pick the fish out of the pond a toss them onto the ground. Most times the fish swim to the bottom of the pond when predators show up. But the friendly fish stay at the surface thinking it is a human feeding them and playing with them.

Rick, very true "necessary evil" it takes away from the beauty of the pond setting, but it keeps the fish alive.

Not sure again what today will bring yet. I'll have to play it by ear and see up comes-up.

Everyone have a great, safe and healthy day. I'll see you all on the RR-L Forum.

          • Morning Gents,

Rick thanks for the java. Wow your last work week.....yippee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It does feel a weird at first; it's like a really looooonnnnggggg vacation but
you will get used to it. After about six months you'll go "work...what's that".

Mike sounds like you have a bust day ahead ~ persist.

Jerry glad you had some quality family time. Hope you get to post your
            photos today.

Louis have fun no matter what you do today.

Rest of the Crew hope all's well.

A partly sunny 64 with a high of 72 here in New York. Went to Home Depot early to
purchase a new storm door for the back porch. The old one is off and painted all the
framing around the door. I'm posting here while that drys, then it's on to the new
installation.....so I guess I know what I'll be doing today. This will check off another
item off the summer list of chores.

Have a great day and stay healthy.

Rick, enjoy you last week of work, retirement is just around the corner.

Made it back home, the trip was uneventful which was good.

Been busy running around since I've been home but we did have a wonderful dinner last night with our son and his partner. Got a lot more running around to do today, should slow down a bit tomorrow.

              Have a great day everyone.

Cool and windy with moderate traffic on our trek home. Just stopped in Clare to top off at $4.71!! Now sitting at an antique shop the Doll likes to hit on trips home.

Be home in another hour and a half or maybe two. It was a good week, plans to return over the 4th. Making up for gas prices by not eating. *

Everyone be well, warm and dry Hey!

                • Good afternoon. It’s a nice breezy day in Wisconsin at 76f degrees and very few clouds floating about.

Filled up Terry’s small chariot this morning after breakfast out for $5.85 per gallon for premium. Then did the grocery trip before lunch and filled the SUV up at $4.54 per gallon and had a $2.01 per gallon discount from the HyVee Grocery store. We are taking tomorrow the SUV which gets 18 miles per gallon versus the speedster that gets on a good day 14 mpg. God forbid we take my VW that gets 38 miles per gallon. No logic there. However, I am not going to argue it. It is a nicer more comfy vehicle to ride in for our overnight trips

I wrote down the wrong Tuesday as to when the girls are heading to Maui, it’s next Tuesday the 5th of July not tomorrow.

Terry and I tomorrow are heading to West Branch, Iowa (2.25 hours) to the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library. This will be #8 of the official 14 libraries of past Presidents for us. Not kidding but I can’t wait to see what the Trump donors build for him. You know he will outspend Mr. Obama’s $380 million palace coming soon to Chicago. So far we have been very impressed with all the libraries with President Bush the elder’s one in College Station, Texas being the best. Our combined opinion, YMMV. I think the Clinton one in Little Rock, Arkansas was very honest and other then the conspiracy murders they touched on all his issues, good and bad.

Mr. Lincoln’s library/museum in Springfield, Il. is the next one to cross off the list. That would be another overnight trip as that is just under 4 hours away. Done hopefully in late September while on a road trip to St. Charles, Mo. (5.5 hours) for a college hockey series of the UW Badgers women’s team. That would give us 2 for the price of one overall trip.

After the Hoover Library we will visit the Amana Colonies a few miles to the west of West Branch and overnight there. Wednesday we will go 2 hours east to Galena, Il. visit some old haunts and then home about 1.5 hours away.

                  • Good morning everyone.

Coffee, hot water for tea and a selection of chilled soft drinks are ready to enjoy.

Sunny, with a high near 80.

Tom, never thought of visiting President's library's.
Sounds like an interesting trip you've got planned.
                    Have fun.

Karl, hope you got home safely.

Ron, hope things do slow down for you today.

Larry, hope the storm door install went smoothly.

Louis, any progress on your project?

Jerry, since I have the dog it will be a drive.

Mike, did the fence people show?

Philip and Dave, hope you're well.

Another day at work for me.

                    Have a great day everyone.

                    • Sun in Michigan this morning. The local net says it was 44 degrees at 0600 today. It may go to 70 some today. The roller coaster continues. 90 for Thursday.

The trip home was uneventful we came home to a fine crop of clover blossoms and the occasional buckhorn stalk and overall super dry lawn. Zero rain while we were gone. 2.5 to 3 inches “behind” rain expectations. The wheat fields are turning to the amber waves of grain we sing about. Other fall crops range from some barely visible green dots of soybeans to corn ranging from meager 5-6 inches to some (few)on track to be knee high by the 4th of July the wheat will be headed to the hoppers by my, and Mike’s, birthday mid July.

Unpacking today and maybe mowing. Rick, I hear the clock ticking!

The trip sounds like fun TomO. I’ve never been to a presidential library even with Gerald Ford’s close by.

Found another one of those pesky critters that stowed away on my leg while cleaning up last night

That’s it from here all y’all have a great day, ya heah?

                          • Good Morning,

Rick thanks for the coffee. I was wondering.....sniff...sniff...can you smell it? The smell of
                            RETIREMENT....ah...brings back fond memories.

Tom that's quite a trip you have planned. Enjoy and safe travels.

Karl ticks are nasty buggers. Maybe you wear a "flea & tick collar around your ankles.

Louis enjoy whatever comes up today.

Jerry have fun at the beach.

The rest of the Crew hope all's well.

A partly sunny 64 with a high of 73 here in New York. I did get the new storm door on after
painting the wood around the door; figured since it was off why not. The old door was probably
25 years old and was having issues. The new one is by Anderson and works very smooth and shuts
nice and tight. Another job checked off my summer chores list.

Have a great day and stay healthy.
