  • Morning! Thanks for starting us Rick. Coffee is great!

Mowed yesterday. Was in the 80's and beautiful. Feel pretty good today considering.

The oil change is still waiting. Remember when they increased mileage between changes?
I tried the 5,000 mile intervals and the oil looked terrible to me. 3,000 seems to be better. Trying to stretch that mighty dollar! I'm 600 miles over 3,000.
    Maybe today.

Printed 2 of the racks and both failed. Part of the territory.

Dave your duck carvings are masters! Amazing work sir! You got Skiilzs !~

    Have a great day gents!

    • Good Morning,

Rick thanks for the coffee. Good luck with the Docs and the test results; fingers crossed.
Nice bird photo; he probably wondering what you were doing.

Mike hope you make it to the loft. There's nothing like fresh herbs especially when cooking.

Louis shoveling sn*w is definitely not fun.

Karl I think I gained weight just looking at the photo of the cinnamon roll...yum. I want to see Top Gun
when it comes out on video....looks good.

Ron safe travels going back home and enjoy.

Jerry hope your test results come back ok. Looking forward to your photos.

Dave that is a beautiful carving....looks like your a man of many talents.

Philip when you get the rack and barrels sorted out it will be quite striking. I'm agree about the oil
changes; the cleaner the oil is the better the engine runs and improves it's life.

Tom have fun and safe travels.

A sunny 70 with a high of 82 here in New York. Ran errands early so may putz around in the garage later
and get it back under control again. Other than that not much else here. I visited a vegetable grower down the road from us
and grabbed some homegrown Romaine lettuce along with some radishes which will make a nice salad for dinner. Love the
whole "farm to table" concept. Plan on making may trips to their stand this summer.

Have a great day and stay healthy!!!

      • Good afternoon. I really thought today was Saturday not the Friday it actually is. Did my normal Friday chores which is mainly vacuuming the house, both levels. I did extra clean the pool deck and the fire pit area. Then the afternoon nap and I am now alive again waiting for our dinner guests. Usually Friday night is Fish Fry night out but not today. At 7 we have a couple newly minted friends coming over. Coach of one of the UW teams and his wife. I said hi and we politely talked a few months ago while at a UW fund raiser that Terry dragged me to. Met him again around Easter and he remembered us. We hit it off pretty nicely. We have had a few dinners out and tonight will be the 1st time for them to visit the house. They live down the street about 2 miles away in the high end golf course community. So not a far drive. I have Shrimp, Perch and my Waygu beef I purchased on sale the other day. The grill will be busy tonight. The daughter, her hubby and another couple will join us. Looking forward to it. The SIL will man the grill.

Tomorrow, Saturday we watch the kids and Sunday we travel the state again. Yesterday turned out to be exhausting but it was fun finally getting out and seeing the world again.

        • Good morning everyone.

Coffee, hot water for tea and a selection of chilled soft drinks are ready to enjoy.

Patchy fog before 7am. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 90.

Mike, I agree with you about charging the Dr. for my time.

Louis, most of the appoints I've had were primarily to make sure all was well before I retire.
These last two I had were to take care of a problem and make sure a problem didn't exist.

Karl, I've read a lot of good reviews for that movie.
Some even said it was better than the original.

Ron, safe travels and enjoy your time at home.

Jerry, I hope you get a good report next week.

Philip, glad you're feeling pretty good.

Larry, nice that you have easy access to fresh produce.

Tom, sounds like you had a very productive and fun day yesterday.

          Both Dr. visits went well.
No sign of a kidney stone, so I guess I passed it.
Using my last two sick days this weekend.
Don't have anything specific planned for today.
I'll let you know tomorrow what happened.

          Have a great day everyone.
Follow along as my dog and I travel the country in our van.

          • Sun, haze, 63 degrees. Calm with little if any breeze. Yesterday the breeze kept our temps cool lakeside, mid 60s. I wore a long sleeve shirt much of the time. Our builder and kids came over and went swimming in the lake.

I picked up some freshly smoke trout and it’s a nice treat. Should make a couple days of it.

I’ll probably have some chores to handle today. The Doll’s back is bugging her.

Doctoring is sure a different experience these days. My doc delivered good advise but bucked heads for some time before moving on then retiring during the last couple of years “great disturbance within the Force…” The replacement is a semianonimous half a face with a muffled voice behind his mega-mask sitting across the room with his arms crossed…told me my labs looked good and refilled the Rxs and wandered off. I’ve managed to function at a fair level since the “exam” so I guess I’m “ok”. He looked to maybe be 40?

No big news here. It’s super hot back home so the respite from that has been nice.

            Everyone have a good day.

            • Good morning Rick, Karl, and all incoming crew. Thanks for opening up the lounge Rick. where is everyone again? Coffee, it is the best way as we all know to start off the day.

73 degrees, with sunny skies here in Rhode Island at the moment. Going into the 80's by noon. What a surprise. About time.

Not sure again what today will bring yet. I'll have to play it by ear and try to get motivated. Cleaned the fish pond yesterday.

Everyone have a great, safe and healthy day. I'll see you all on the RR-L Forum.

              • Good Saturday morning from a very wet So. Central Wisconsin. Supposedly the rain event continues till around 5. We were on the verge of needing the rain again but no worries now.

Rick, are you anxious to be done yet? My last month was brutal and I was told they would pay out the unused vacation/PTO days. When they confirmed my totals they had a fit but hey, I followed the rules.

Karl, I don’t get the hands off approach to Senior Medicine. My Endocrinologist is very hands on but the GP isn’t. The Oncologist can be both which is frustrating especially when something to me feels off. It’s like she is doing me a favor when she slaps on the gloves to probe.

Dinner last night was great and all seemed to have a good time. My Endocrinologist and her hubby were there and turns out she is the Endo for the coach’s wife too. That was an interesting introduction until the coach’s wife said she was her doctor as the Endo wasn’t going to give out that info. The Waygu beef was fine and it was the 1st time eating it for 7 of the 8 of us. The 8th is a vegetarian and didn’t try it. I had cut it into 8oz portions and at $28 on a big sale per pound it should have been better then fine. The perch and shrimp went over much better. Overall, a super good time. The SIL operated the grill and did his stellar job. It’s one job I really dislike when it’s more then Terry and me.

Today we will have the grandkids starting around 4. The rain and T-Storms should be out of the area which means swimming pool time. Even though the pool is indoors we do not use it in stormy weather. Their parents should be home between 11 and 12 but both will be in bed at 9.

                Enjoy the day

                • Afternoon folks,

Rick, thanks for coffee and opening. Glad the doc visits went well. Yikes about kidney stone.

Tom, sounds like fun with the grandkids.

Lewis, what type of fish do you have in your pond? Bass, trout, tuna...

                  Karl, smoked trout, YUM!

Larry, envy the farmer stand down the road. Good stuff.

                  Ron, safe travels.

Philip, I didn't think you got bad castings with resin printers.

Jerry, fingers crossed for the ultra sound results.

Cool again today at 87F. Daughter and SIL coming over to help me install a back storm door with doggie door in it. That sucker is heavy! I'm making shish kabobs and safron rice for supper. Getting ready to head upstair for a while.

                  Have fun,

Sunny, with a high near 91.

Mike, I'm sure having a doggie door will come in handy.
                    Dinner sounds delicious.

Tom, I've been anxious the past year.
                    Down to my last week.
Used my last sick day today.
Didn't want to get paid out for my PTO because we get clobbered with taxes.

Lois, I guess you have Koi.

                    Karl, keep on keeping cool.

Guess everyone else yesterday was enjoying the great outdoors.
I know Ron was driving home.
Dave, Jerry, Larry and Philip, what's goin' on?

Gave the dog a bath yesterday.
Wrestling a gator would probably be easier.
Went to friends house in the PM and spent some time in the pool.
Then went across the street to an annual church carnival to take some pics.
Took a few but I should have brought my wide angle lens.
Had dinner and then took some pics of fireworks.
After I finish my coffee I'll prices the pics and see if there are any keepers.
                    Nothing planned for today yet.

                    Have a great day everyone.

                    • Good Morning,

Rick thanks for the coffee this morning. Sounds like you had an enjoyable day yesterday,
apart from giving the pup a bath. It's getting towards July so you must be counting down
the days to the "big R".

Hope everyone else is doing well.

A sunny 75 with a high of 90 here in New York. Going to rain later to cool things off. Cleaned
and organized the garage yesterday, but still have some things to get rid of. Dragged out a push
mower that was my Dad's which has been sitting for about six years. Cleaned it all up and put in fresh gas
and checked the oil. To my delight the thing started after a few minutes of tinkering. Since I have
no use for it I'll probably put it out by the road and put $20 on it just to get rid of it. Not much else going
on so who knows maybe some bench time later.

Have a wonderful day and stay healthy.

                      • More of the big orb in the sky this morning with a light breeze and 65 degrees.

Rick, I can remember some memorable one on one bonding moments with my K-9 Wrangler. 110# of Oh no you’re NOT tied to the side view mirror of my Chevy Caprice in the bay at the substation with a hose in one hand and wrestling for all my strength. Soap him up then rinse. As soon as he was clean I’d let him out in the parking area and he’d shake and run like a puppy until he got it all wrung out to his satisfaction. Quite exhausting, but necessary at times. Like the time we tracked some bad guys thru a large pork ranch in the South of our county, in wet weather…we earned the overtime pay that night.

Cleanup and work today preparing to go home in the morning.

Rick, can hear the ticking of the clock, what an exciting time. We’re all enjoying it with you. I did much the same with extra days off my last 6 months working 2 days at a time then adding 1-2 sick or vac days to regular time off. Hardly there at all. Just slowly faded out the last night signing off with no fanfare before taking the last couple of days.

Mike the door project sounds nice to have help with.

Well, gotta run. Lots to do today.

                        Everyone be well.

                          • Good morning Crew. It is nice and clear outside with the temperature in the mid 60’s. It’s only going to the low 70’s today but everything thing seems fresher!

Heading out within the hour to a juried Arts and Craft show in Spring Green, Wi. home to Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin. When I mentioned to Terry that taking her 2 seat speedster meant this was a browsing trip she said ok we can take her SUV. I am a sucker for garden art.

Looking at creating day trips and overnight trips for July. We had planned to be on Maui but my getting Covid and the delay of my radiation treatments have messed that up. Terry, my sister and a few of her friends are leaving Tuesday for 10 days and I want a plan scheduled when she returns. My 1st radiation adventure is scheduled for Saturday the 9th of July at 4:45AM. 1st of 8 every 3 week treatments. I should be ok enough by the 12th to travel.

I hope to spend an hour or more later today at the paint bench

                            Enjoy the day

Late start today, with other things going on this morning.

82 degrees, with sunny skies here in Rhode Island at the moment. Going to get humid today.

My fish pond has a variety of koi and goldfish. It is a shame that I had to make a cage to cover the pond area do to other animals that have a meal at will. I used 1/2 inch plastic pipe and chicken wire to make a cover. It now takes away from the beauty of it all I think.

Everyone have a great, safe and healthy day. I'll see you all on the RR-L Forum.
