  • Good morning Rick, and all incoming crew. Thanks for opening up the lounge Rick. Coffee, it is the best way as we all know to start off the day.

Back to 66 degree weather, but sunny here in Rhode Island at the moment. Not going to get much warmer they say.

Not sure what today will bring yet. I'll have to play it by ear.

Everyone have a great, safe and healthy day. I'll see you all on the RR-L Forum.

      • Hi all, grey morning in the palm of the mitten state…not quite so hot out and it’s cloudy after overnight rain ~0400. Not much in the gage.

Rick the pics were taken with my DSLR Nikon D-5600 70-300mm lens. Cropped in PS-Elements and the magic wand waved over the RAW images.
In order to do that I use my PC, send an email to download on the iPad from the email. Round about process to be able to share them here. Amazed they survived as well as they have.

Ran around a bit in the am yesterday with the Doll then retired to the ice cave as the temps wandered up to the 94 range and ouch factor over 100.

The last couple of days have really kicked the lawn in gear so that will get most of my attention today. Grand crop of clover at the moment.

TomO hope your antibody treatments go well.

Everyone have a fine day. Stay hydrated and instigated…

        • Good morning from a very clear sky in So. Central storm damaged Wisconsin.

While getting the infusion yesterday I had the TV on and watched as the TV guys tracked the storms that ravaged our area of Wisconsin. I checked radar just before they released me into a bright sunshine at 7PM. Barely made it to the car as the storm was behind me as I walked to the car. Wow, it came down in sheets. The normally 20 minute ride home took 40 scary minutes and the last couple miles were again in bright sunshine. Lots of wind damage and I should get a property report in about 30 minutes.

I am of course isolated in the house and yard. There is a huge difference in isolating and protecting yourself to avoid Covid for 2 years + but HAVING to isolate really feels different. My radiation treatment on 6/23 has been cancelled and not rescheduled due to my positivity of Covid.

          Fun times, enjoy your day

          • Good morning Rick, Louis, Jerry, Karl, Tom and the rest of the crew that drops in later.

Rick, thanks for the coffee, always the best way to start the day.

Rick, Jerry, no lights on yet.

Tom, hope the new medication works out better for you.

Spent the evening last night making a jig to make the goose-neck lamps I'm going to need for the outside of the building. The plan is to install the LED's in parallel in order to only add the requires resisters outside of the building. Making some rough calculations I'm going to need a resister with 1.5W power rating. All the resisters in my collection are either 1/4W or 1/2W. Going to need to order some 1W resisters and work some magic. By putting the resisters in parallel you can add up the wattage's so 2 x 1W resisters = 2W, got to love math.

            Have a great day everyone.

            • Morning Gents,

Rick thanks for the coffee and hope you get to "reduce that cigar to ashes" later.

Louis that is a cool temp for June we're going to hit almost ninety here today.

Jerry thanks for breakfast and hope you're able to get in contact with Roland.

Karl don't blame you for staying where it's cool; I can deal with the heat but it's
              the humidity that sucks.

Tom hope you get feeling better and sorry you have to deal with Covid.

Ron good luck with the lighting, sounds like you have it all figgered out.

The rest of the Crew hope you're all well.

A sunny but muggy 70 with a high of 88 here in New York. May get some nasty weather later
with the old "thunder boomers". Took the car in this am for the yearly NYS inspection and it passed.
Not sure what's on the agenda for today so we'll just play it as it comes.

Have a great day and stay healthy.

              • Good morning folks,

Rick, thanks for coffee. Your agenda for the day sounds good, except that weeding stuff. The rolls turned out good. It was like being back in Germany, kinda

                Jerry, thanks for breakfast. Tasty!

Louis, that weather sounds nice, although that is sweater weather for me

Karl, those pics of hummers are terrific. Nice work.

Tom, so sorry to hear about COVID. Good luck with the treatment.

Ron, are you using the hollow tubes for the goose necks? I tried that and had a horrible time, until I learned to anneal them first, LOL.

Plan for the day is to get Georgia drivers license and emission inspection for cars. Next will be license plates.

                Have fun,
                mike

Mike, the last I knew Georgia doesn’t issue license plates. They issue TAGS. ;-)

              • I got an email from Roland I must have dialed his number wrong.

But this is what he had to say in the email.

Thanks for thinking of me. As far as we know the phone is still connected. Wife called home this morning. As for the stroke, things are very slowly getting better. My left hand is giving me a lot of trouble and left leg just seems to want to walk off in its own direction. I have not fallen or used a walker for many weeks now, just learning how to live with it. Dr's say it could improve but no promises. Right now I am working on some N scale buildings for a friend. If I can get my hand to work with them then O should be no problem. Saw a Dr on Mon and was told I could start driving again. Just another step out of this nightmare. Went to the Harrisburg O Narrow Gauge show last Fri and ran into Big Lars and his WWI layout. You really have to see it in person to appreciate the work he did. It looks great. As soon as I get something built I'll be back. Roland

                • Good morning everyone.

Coffee, hot water for tea and a selection of chilled soft drinks are ready to enjoy.

Patchy fog before 7am. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 93.

Jerry, thanks for passing along Rolands response.
Sounds like he is doing better and I hope that that trends continues.

Mike, are you an official Georgian now?

Larry, congrats on the successful inspection.

Ron, sounds like you know what you're doing with the lighting.

Tom, glad you got home safely and that there is no property damage.

Karl, I think it will be an 'ice cave' day here today.

Jerry, did you make it to the beach?

                  Louis, anything happen yesterday?

Groceries weren't shopped yesterday so that will happen today.
Mom also mentioned she wants to grocery shop so I'll take her later.
We don't go together because we both like different stores.
Also need to get an ultra-sound that the urologist ordered.
This is after I already had a CT scan and an x-ray.

                  Have a great day everyone.

                  • Good morning folks,

Rick, thanks for coffee. A doctor told me once that they don't make money on office calls, but they do on tests. Good luck shopping.

Jerry, it was good to hear Roland is doing better. Thanks for passing that news along.

I live in Georgia, but my heart is in Texas. It is a weird feeling. Quite a few folks have asked me why in the world would I move from Texas to Georgia.

It's another hot one today at 95F. Guess we are gearing up for Summer. My daughter is taking me on a father / daughter weekend tomorrow. We are headed to Blue Ridge Scenic Railway in north Georgia. We always have fun on those trips. I'll be without computer, so won't check in until Monday.

Have fun and Happy Father's Day to all you fathers,

                    • Bright clear sunny sky with comfortable humidity. The Ice Cave is on stand down today. The weather is going to be close to,ideal today and most of the weekend. Going back to 90s next week as we trek to TDY at NoCom aka Northern Command travel May be an adventure with the orange barrels in heavy proliferation, election year, the grinch has to show something besides stalinistic oppression…

I trimmed the grass yesterday and the Doll cleaned out her shed out in the back. Several years of inattentiveness rendered it a mess. Lots of old barn wood she’d hoarded has insect infestation, she burned much of that up and also disposed of dozens and dozens of gourds she grew that had been mice condos. Cool they Pop like mad when put on the fire unless they’ve been eaten into.

Today I have tree work to do.

Went to town with the Doll early yesterday and while she was out,of the car found an online adv for Lowes, they had Dewalt battery stuff on massive sale plus a free battery. Been needing a recip/sawzall type saw for the lake, $179 marked down to $129 and ~$100 battery free….they sunk the hook. Ordered, online and picked up 30 minutes later. Completes my intended acquisitions and saves boo-coo (can’t spell that, I refuse to learn french.). Danny the builder built our whole command post at the lakeside compound with Dewalt battery tools. Cedar swamp tested. give me a backup battery for home in the deal.

Nice day all…good word from Roland. Everyone keep cool, Summer is official one of these days soon.

Glad to hear Roland is doing OK and is getting better.
