Bright sun and cool, 49 when first up for some reason at 0600, should approach or exceed 70 this afternoon. Other than a chance of a pop up precipitation event about evening, the next several days are to be sun and warm to nearly horridly hot Monday. ~90
Yesterday was sort of a washout, save for the trip to the hearing place. He said he replaces 6-7 a year for one thing or another, dogs love ‘em and goofballs like myself wear them with ear muffs while mowing and lose them to low hanging branches that knock them off and because the mower is so loud their absence isn’t realized for awhile.
The Doll has another estate sale picked for today. So, off we go shortly. Plenty here to do if we get back. -edit- That was a BUST!
My father was also in the army in WW-II, was in line to get on a ship to overseas and they ran out of room a few guys ahead of him so they sent him to a prisoner of war camp, Camp Wheeler, near Macon, GA where he resumed his civilian work as a postal clerk for the duration. Met my mother there, leading to a lifelong, 50plus years, battle.
We’re currently between cemetery visits. Shortly to get to Custer Veteran’s Cemetery just outside Battle Creek where my father is. It’s a very beautiful place a great honor to those interred there.
Coffee, hot water for tea and a selection of chilled soft drinks are ready to enjoy.
Mostly sunny, with a high near 81.
Thank you to all those that served and sacrificed for our country.
Only got 4 hours sleep and keeping it brief today.
Need to cut the backyard hopefully for the last time and go through the house one last time to see if I missed anything.
With any luck there will be a nap later.
Rick thanks for opening and the coffee.
Better get that lawn before it gets to hot!!
Weather in South Jersey sunny/60. Later on 78.
Morning breakfast eggs anyway you want them. Sides of bacon, sausage or Taylor ham. Home fries toast & English muffins.
Well the kids did have a nice day at the beach yesterday. Mor of the same today with another one coming down to raise the total to 9!
Time to go there all wake up now!
Everyone have a wonderful day!!
Jerry

Good morning Rick, Jerry, Mike, and all incoming crew. Thanks for opening up the lounge as usual Rick. It is the best way to start off the day.
66 degrees and the rain is finely over here in Rhode Island. The temps still continue to be going up and back down again. Good thing is we don't need the central air on yet.
Maybe more progress work on my Crane Critter Locomotive today. I should be finishing it up, then move on to the Boom Car.
Everyone have a great, safe and healthy day ahead. I'll see you all on the RR-L Forum.

Rick thanks for the coffee this morning. Wow your last time you'll have to mow a lawn....sweet!!
Enjoy the nap later; now you can relax.
Jerry thanks for breakfast....yum. Enjoy the Grandkids.
Mike hope you get back to normal soon and get your stamina back so you can enjoy life once again.
The rest of the Crew hope your all doing well.
A sunny 61 with a high of 77 here in New York. May get to the bench a little this morning then I think I hear
the lawn calling my name...."mow me". Not much else going on here.
Enjoy the weekend and be well....stay safe!!!

Sunny, warm and clear in MI. For the 20 something yr in a row, I’ll not be in Indianapolis for what truly is a spectacle of indescribable dimensions that was a big part of my life from childhood, listening to Sid Collins and Fred Agabashian and others on the am radio to in person immersions in the experience from ‘76 thru 2000…
I say, a bit of a cloudburst in Monaco say what..?!…what a spectacular looking place…those clouds….
We joined dozens and dozens of folks visiting the National Cemetery at Ft. Custer yesterday a truly wonderfully maintained honor to our veterans…
Good morning and officially it’s Memorial Day. Remember those that gave their all!
The coffee maker contains a nice blend of Ashpit and the Switch tenders brew. It’s hot and ready. The sodas are varied and are cold especially the diet Dr Peppers. The breakfast menu is small, the fat pills or donuts as some call them are fresh. The morning sandwich looks like a MickeyD’s product but look closer and every thing is bigger. The meat choices are smoked bacon, smoked ham or Canadian bacon. If you want an adult beverage this early morning the bar is open but self serve.
Yesterday I continued helping though in a slower and more limited role then normal. Some planting done with more today as I am just the grunt labor. I dig if needed and she plants, I wheel plants into position, she says thanks. We have done this every Memorial weekend since our 1st house in 1980 minus the 2 Covid seasons of 2020 and 2021. I did fix a high planting bed that had a separation of side frame from end frame.
Mulching today. I used to up in North Central Wisconsin get the mulch delivered and dumped in the driveway. Pitch fork and a wheel barrowed 20 yards for years. Not here, just 20 bags to be spread about. But, n my older age, it seems tougher.
I did get in the train room yesterday, twice. I needed a couple diet sodas. Not sure about today.
Rick, enjoy the last days of the house. I hope the closing goes smooth.
Jerry, enjoy that beach and your company
Mike, recovery is a bitch. Take it easy, just bits at a time
Ron, hope you enjoyed of what I read a crazy race.
It will be interesting if Liberty Media sticks to their guns and moves Monaco to every other year. Seems strange that the premier name race of the F1 series does not pay F1 a penny. I have been to LeMans and Monza in the 70’s for races. Did many a Indy race when they were still on Memorial Day. I would have to check the ticket stubs for the last one, maybe early 80’s. Flew in early Monday morning and a very slow get away in the evening. Had a girlfriend in High School who’s uncle was Tony Bettenhausen and drove a street car around their family farm race track in Tinley Park, Illinois. Graduated from there in 70 so that was late 60’s. Saw many of his race cars in the garages there.
Tom, thanks for the coffee and breakfast sandwich.
That's a nice tradition you share with your wife.
Karl, that picture sums it up very nicely.
Ron, beer on the deck sounds great.
Larry, hope it's the last time mowing.
Depends when closing happens.
Louis, enjoy working on your project.
Mike, hope you're 100% healthy very soon.
Jerry, should be another excellent beach day today.
Dave and Philip, what's your plans for today?
My job doesn't work this holiday so I get to relax at home.
Mom already tasked me to bring out the hoses so she can water her plants.
Walk with the dog and smoke a cigar while reading a book will also happen.
More boxes will be sorted too.
