    Narrow Gauge Used To Build The Lincoln Highway

    I came across this article while researching skip cars for the Canfield Lime Company build.
    The article is from a 1919 Concrete journal. It covers a construction company that used a narrow
    gauge railroad to build a section of the Lincoln Highway.

    I thought this might interest some of you in this forum.

    It was at least 8 years ago, but I recall another RR-Line thread with photos of concrete road construction using a narrow gauge railway. I don't recall them as matching these, and I think they may have come from a State or Federal archive.

      Contractor railroads were relatively common in the twenties. Some of that probably used surplus NG trench railway equipment that never made it to Europe. It would be a great prototype for On30, in particular.
