  • What's on your workbench right now?

Take a picture of what is on your workbench right now, even if it's the cat or the laundry.

    NO CHEATING!

No cleaning it up first. Just post the picture you take.

Here's mine at 8:00pm @ 13Nov21. It isObviously the results of a 1/87 tornado in a box of DPM parts

This car started as a La Belle kit and was detailed using bits and pieces from my parts box.

A total disaster. Looks like a typhon hit both of my work bench's. That's why nothing ever gets done. 11/14/2021 at 9:30 AM.

Plan on adding more bench to the right where the tool box sits. Maybe it'll happen to day, maybe tomorrow. Notice I like to procrastinate.

          1. Bernd, I can help you clean up by taking some of those ugly looking brass thingies that are scattered all over the place. The ones with the tiny little wheels on the bottom look like they need a new home, and loving care.

I got an N Scale gasholder kit from Walthers, which I'll repurpose into a small HO scale gasholder. The key scale conversion has to do with accommodating people, that includes the stairs, walkway and ladder. On the right, you can see the piece of .020 white styrene underneath the dark kit walkway. I'll cut away the opening, the result will be a walkway that's a HO scale 42" wide. I think I can use some Tichy tank kit parts for the walkway railing.

I thought about redoing the tank roof. The panels are kinda small for HO, I could sand them off and rescribe larger panel lines with Archer Rivets. Fortunately, adding the top is the last step in the kit, so I have time to decide.

Update: Started to add the handrails, moved to a different work area. I ran out of Tichy handrails, more on order. It's A Great Thing Don Tichy does by making some of his large kit sprues available for kitbashers.

I'd take a picture of all those little brass looking thingies, but they won't all fit in the picture.

I don't have a dedicated workbench, so there is a little bit of everything on it. Mostly the benchwork for my first layout, some locomotives I'm building, the base for the PVLWs, a gravity switch test stand, and some trim for the upstairs hall.

My workbench is cluttered up with non RR stuff right now. Too many 1:1 projects going on, don't know when I'll get back to modeling.

Update: extended my workbench to the right.

Now I can begin getting it cluttered up again. Trouble is I've run out of room to extend to.
