  • Greetings,

Rick thanks for the cup-o-joe this morning. Sounds like you were a busy guy yesterday. Yes I got outside yesterday and was able to get some stuff done including measuring the garage roof for a new metal one....hopefully.

The rest of the Crew hope you're all doing well.

A sunny 37 with a high of 55 here in New York. Not sure what the day will bring so playing it by ear.

Have a great day everyone and be well.

We went to the Fayette state park and saw some huge ice chunks on the shore there. See above. Fayette is the site of and old iron processing area from the late 1800s. They had a narrow gage railroad. The are beehive kilns where they made charcoal used in the iron furnaces. We’ve been before and most likely will be returning.

No big plans today so far. Guess I’ll post and go make breakfast. sausage, eggs and mmmm…english muffins? Will see.

      Later y’all.

Rick thanks for opening and the coffee.
You didn't need a ladder becay=use your tall enough to reach it!

I'm on way to pick up Diane after her three day visit with her Aunt.
In all that time I never even looked at the bench.
Hopefully it will return sooner than later!

            • Look what the dog dragged in!

Busy as a beaver this spring trying to catch up yard and vehicles. Working on junk as usual.

              83 today! So nice out!

Hope you all are well! Surgery is finally on May 5th, lumbar laminectomy discectomy.

Looking at the layout every day. Not feeling very motivated with this great weather.

              Later!

Philip, even though it's early, best of luck on your surgery; hope all goes well and solves your problems. Hurting backs are no joke!!!!!!!

            • Good morning everyone.

Coffee, hot water for tea and an assortment of cold sodas are ready for your enjoyment.

Mostly sunny, with a high near 64.

Jerry, I'm tall but not that tall.

Karl, looks like you had a nice time at the state park.

Larry, glad you were able to get outside.

Tom, maybe un-rearrange the paint booth,

Ron, how'd the new mic work?

              Mike, enjoy your usual business.

Philip, thanks to your dog for dragging you in.

Open house day is finally here.
Got some tidying up to day and then disappear for three hours with the dog.
It's nice out so I guess we'll hit a couple of parks and take some long walks.

              Have a great day everyone.

              • Good morning from the lake shore….Northern Command is still leeward of the Gale Warning on the lakes today. The waves ponded and roared most of the last 36 hours….

ID:	992690 Seen here at the Thompson Creek access about 3 mi N of us. Our place is so solidly built you can’t hear it at all.

We may venture out to the N today after the fast is broken and the webs are cleared. Wind and rain is the forecast, just maybe 10 degrees warmer. With the 20-30 winds it was quite chilly. Back home the trolls had 80 degrees.

No big news here, nice to be away. Be well all.

Those are some pretty good "white caps" going on there.

              • Good Morning,

Rick hope your house sells today; maybe even multiple offers would be nice. After all it is a "sellers market", at least around here.
Thanks for the coffee by the way.

Karl getting a change of scenery is always nice even if just for a little while.

Jerry, Tom, Ron, Louis, Kyle, Mike, and Roland hope all's going well; and anyone else I missed.

A sunny 45 this am with a high of 75 here in New York. Going to hit the bench this morning then maybe a "walk about" with the Mrs.

                • Good morning from the confused layout room in So. Central Wisconsin. Not sure if it should all come down, get additional details or be left alone. Even running slot cars with Terry and the granddaughter left me uneasy in there yesterday. What I see is a beautiful diorama with little desire to run a train. Now of course I have stopped building structures and stopped any weathering projects at the benches. Thankfully these are not life threatening decisions and are not comparable at other to health, financial or wartime issues. Just venting thanks!

Rick, best to you on the open house. Do you have a actual retirement date yet and will you have any time off coming or need to be used up? Enquiring mind, or is it a mosey one?

Karl, Northern Command looks a bit rough out there on the seas of the Lake called Michigan

Jerry, get out on your beach and pick the polished glass. Thanks for explaining that to me a few years ago!

Larryc, thanks for always thinking of me when u write

Philip, I also have some health stuff being done on the 5th. I have started to think about it at bedtime, makes for a restless night. Best to you

Mike, sounds like the moving is a good thing so far?

Ron, thanks. Texted with the brother this morning and Nicole the g/f is feeling physically better this morning and mentally improving. I am going to talk to her later this morning. She wants some insights from this 2x survivor but the best I tell any cancer victim is they are not alone and be positive. Isn’t your time in the States coming to a close soon? Do you have another assignment or do you get to stay in the home country and work from there?

                • Morning everyone

Rick thanks for opening and the coffee.

                  Weather in South Jersey sunny/60.

Well after two trips to North Jersey this week.
Diane is back home. She had wonderful visit with her 101 year old Aunt Marie.
The dog was really happy to see her there tied at the hip can't believe a dog could miss someone that much!

Not sure what's on the agenda today.

But everyone have a wonderful day!!

It was a day to relax and straighten up my room.

If your around stop by and join in.

Rick look at this thread that was brought up.
And look to see how many guys that posted are either gone to train heaven or don't post here anymore.

                    • Howdy folks,

Rick, thanks for coffee. Good luck with the open house. The best part of your day was walking the dog...in the parks no less. What fun!

Couldn't log in most of the day, Joe helped me so I'm on now.

Karl, those are some breakers. I just don't think of the great lakes being choppy, but they are. Keeping busy up north?

Larry, hope the bench was good to you, but mostly hoped you enjoyed the walkabout. Good stuff.

Tom, love the cartoon. Still laughing.

Jerry, sounds like a wonderful trip. Wow, over 100, nice.

Who was that said Rick was buying? I'll take a triple MacAllan 30 year old, neat.

Having a Muddy Waters kind of day...my ears are happy, soul too. Hawks play tonight and hope they win. Unpacked last box of clothing. Think some of it will go to Goodwill.

How are Philip, Lewis, Kyle, et al. today?

                      Have fun,

                      • Sort of cloudy with sun at times this morning on the shore of a much calmer lake.

We had the full gamut of weather yesterday. It was cold and still windy when we got going yesterday, even thought of pulling the pin and heading South….becided, tho, to work, our way up to the North toward Gitchee-Goomy….The great Superior. As we did the weather cleared and warmed up, we traveled E on County H-58 past the area not cleared in the winter…

By the time we got back to the home area the temp had dropped to 44 degrees and we were in a pee soup fog with 1/10 mile vis if lucky. It was white cane time back home the final,15 miles, crossing the River at Manistique we could just barely see the water….then an hour after arriving home….the fog blew away and the sun came back out but the wind and chill remained….

By then we were exhausted! A real day that backed up the old saying, It’s Michigan, if you don’t like the weather wait 10 minutes….

Probably stay close to the compound today and do a chore or two…or not.

Good day to all. KarlS in the swamp.

                      • Morning Gents,

Coffee's on along with hot water for tea or cocoa. An assortment of cold bevys in the Fridge. Have some homemade biscuits topped with Country gravy and grits to go along with it. So enjoy.

Karl that's some cold looking real estate; makes me shiver just looking at it. Not many people can sit at a picnic table with a pile of ice in front of them. The Michigan weather slogan sounds a lot like New York's......"If you don't like the weather then wait five minutes".

                        Rick house sold yet?

Jerry I answered your PM. Glad the pooch is happy now Diane's back home.

Mike sounds like your on the "downhill side of unpacking~persist.

Tom sometimes we just need a break from the bench. Loved the cartoon by the way.

Philip, Ron, Kyle, and Louis hope you guys are doing well. Roland how's the PT going? Hope I didn't miss anyone.

It hit 75 yesterday with the same today here in New York. Hope to get some trimming done outside this afternoon. Easter Decs are coming down today and being put away; maybe even some bench time later.

Hope everyone has a great day and be well.
