  • Good morning Rick and all incoming crew. Thanks for opening up the lounge this morning Rick. Coffee and a chat is the best way to start the day off.

Rick I see you sprung into action early this morning.

51 degrees and going up today here in Rhode Island. Slight chance of rain as well.

I didn't get any railroad time yesterday, but maybe today I'll get some work done.

Everyone have a great, safe and healthy day ahead. I'll see you all on the RR-L Forum.

    • It is 54 now heading to a clear 78f degrees. But I am not missing just lost in Texas. Last night was Houston. Spent the day yesterday at the Johnson Space Center. If you are a fan of space, past, present and the future this is a must see for you. Brought back so many memories.

Below though is a surviving Saturn rocket over 300’ tall laid sideways since 2001. Seems the weather was destroying it outside and they built a building.

Today was to have sometime where the NASA control center is. The NASA complexes are a bit crazy. I thought they would be fully explained what is what and the Control Center is where we thought we would be on Wednesday. It was a pleasant mistake by us but today we are re-thinking going to Mission Control. Houston is a messy city to drive in from what we saw yesterday.

Snowing at home in Wisconsin and they can keep it. Shorts and a t-shirt are the rule here.

Disappointed in the wildflower search in Central Texas and the Hill Country. More wildflowers on the ride down to Houston then the Hill country. The rain of Tuesday night might perk things up when we start back tomorrow.

Did hit up the Magnolia Empire in Waco and was very happy that they were not tourist traps. Well done and the food at the Magnolia Kitchens was very good and reasonably priced.

ID:	990666 The weather has been gorgeous and comfortable. But I know what Summer and late Fall are like and I couldnt handle the overall heat and humidity.

Trains, oh yeah. Lots of trains in Texas. In Temple we stopped at a RR museum with its usual fare. A few box cars, a a couple passenger cars and 1 steamer and 2 diesels. But from the deck next door of the only open on 2 Saturdays a month Central Texas Model RR Club is a engine servicing of the BNSF.

          Thoughts of heading North…….but…..naw….

TomO looks interesting the things you’ve seen. The food looks good.

Im going to see what I can stir up here. The bench is getting tedious. It’s like I’m going backwards most of the time. Had power out here for 4.5 hrs early, went back,
to bed and slept thru it.

          Everyone have a fine day.

            • Good afternoon!

Having an afternoon coffee with the wife!

Well this humble pensioner learned I don't have to file for taxes. Whoa!

Yes Rick, Sammy has been adopted. Took 25 days for someone to love him. Hated to get rid of him but he was a jerk to my other cats.
I"m sure he is in good hands as the adoption fee was $80.00. Comforting knowing that they don't give them away plus they do a background. Too many creeps in this world!

Sammy & Liz. She work there saying goodbye to the big boy!~

Thanks for the trip Tom! Food looks great!

Interesting story Karl. Food also sounds great!

Jerry Is that a KIA ?

The rest of you all have a great day... gotta run!

              • Good Afternoon,

It's almost 70 here in New York and I'm loving it. Went to Wegmans this morning for Rx and food; ran into all kinds of people I haven't seen in awhile so the visit took way longer than expected.... ah the joys of retirement. No bench time today as I was determined to get the Daughter's old laptop running better; long story short I loaded a Linux OS into memory and now this thing flies.....I hate windows!!!!!! Actually posting from it now.

Sounds like your all doing well. Congrats on the new ride and getting the cat a good home; also great photos of the Center.

Enjoy what's left of your day. Be well and stay healthy.

                • Good morning everyone.

Coffee, hot water for tea and an assortment of cold sodas are ready for your enjoyment.

A chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 4pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 55.

Ron, did maybe turn into reality?

Tom, thanks for all the interesting pictures.
I'll have to add that stop in my travels.

                  Louis, here early again.

Karl, that picture from up north doesn't look very inviting

Jerry, good luck with the new car.

                  Philip, Sammy looks content.

Larry, I was at Wegman's too but didn't see you.

Mike, hope most of the move in chores are done and the layout construction can begin.

Got done what I wanted to get done yesterday.
Installed baseboard and painted it in what used to be the modeling room.
Todays focus will again be in the basement and I should be able to get it to state of looking good to show.
I have someone coming over at 11 to give me a price on doing a little sheet rock work oil the basement.
All that will happen after I do my meal prep this morning.

                  Have a great day everyone.

                    • Well, Jerry, the day should go as planned, since there are none. I made micro progress on the loco wiring. It’s cold with a chance of snow for awhile.

Rick, good luck, with getting the place ship shape. Lots of work in that. When I sold my mother’s place I had to have the bathroom redone. The rest we let the new owner do as they wanted, sold it ‘as is’ and seeing what all they did outside I can imagine anything I’d have done would have been undone/redone.

                      As stated, no plans.

                      Later everyone.

Sounds like another busy day for you Rick. Hope things all go along as planned.

We are at 54 degrees this morning here in Rhode Island, and temps should rise some throughout the afternoon.

I got my March FOS Scale kit of the month yesterday, so I've got another project to think about getting to.

Everyone have a great, safe and healthy day ahead. I'll see you all on the RR-L Forum.

                        • Morning Gents,

Rick thanks for the java. I went through much the same when I had to sell my Dad's house; lot of work when your working
a full time job to boot. Gee I thought I saw you going around the corner at Wegmans and thought "there's Rick".

Jerry nice new ride you have there; enjoy.

Karl enjoy the "no plans" day; although things do have a habit of just popping up.

Louis an other new kit; you're going to be busy modeling.

The rest of the Crew how's things?

A cloudy 41 this am but now it's 39 and raining; only going to 43....maybe. Ran a few errands early and hope to get to the bench
today.....didn't quite make it yesterday.....too many distractions.

Have a great day. Be well and keep warm.

                            Karl, that's some nasty weather.

Philip, glad the cat has found a new home.

Presently 59F and the sun is trying to peak through. Had tornado alerts yesterday, didn't know that was a thing here. No modeling yesterday as I have a completely different project on the workbench that needs to be put away before I get back to modeling. Finished working on it last night so it bets put away tonight.

                            Have a great day everyone.
