  • Good Morning,

Rick thanks for the coffee. Sounds like you'll be "flying low" today....day off?
I get the cat's meds this afternoon so hopefully he tolerates it without any issues.
Other than that he's back to his old self and is eating and drinking well.

Mike thanks...the Mrs. dental visit went well. Sorry to hear about the furniture damage...
hope it's repairable. It'll be all done soon...persist.

Tom glad your progressing physically...those ladies are tough....no pain, no gain.
Good luck figuring out the vehicle situation for the trip.

Jerry that's quite the achievement.... 14,000 posts, WOW! The cat is doing much better, thanks.
Have fun at the lawyers and hope you get to the bench later.

Philip sometimes the railroad goes on the "back burner" weather we like it or not.
I'm sure the cat will find a good home soon.

Ron glad to hear the wife's surgery went well...guess you'll be wearing the "nurses hat" for the day.

Karl that sucks your dinner wasn't better, especially considering the prices they must charge.

The rest of the Crew hope you're all doing well.

A cloudy 30 this am with a high of 43 here in New York. Hopefully it'll melt the 2 inches of crap we got
yesterday...I'm so over winter. Grocery shopped this morning so we can eat for another couple of weeks.
Glad I'm retired with the price of gas, or should I say the price of profits for Big Oil. Finished up the large work
bench which I'll post soon. Time to tackle the next item.

Have a wonderful day. Don't overdue, stay warm, and be well.

    • Good evening. Logs added to the fire. Adult beverages are out and ready. Just a good time to relax.

I got some goodies today but my main want item was the Vortex mixer.

The Tamiya model holder and turntable heading for the paint booth. AK Interactive streaking enamels and some pigments. I have completely re-done the paint booth, the hand brushing/weathering station and storage around the paint booth in the past 10 days. “U” shaped now so storage on the left, paint booth in the middle and weathering bench and paint supplies on the right. I now can reach all from the swivel chair.

A very Happy camper I am!

Got to admit I'm a little tired and sore with all the packing and moving of boxes.
        More of that later.
        Meal prep first.

            • Rick, if you reread my statement I said I’d Think about airbrushing. Yes I did think about it.

Woke up to 2-3” of new snow this morning. It’s still happening.

Sparty squeaked one out last night, blew 18 of a 20 point lead but held on. Went from semi-pro to junior high school play in 5 minutes. The A2 weasels fell out in their earlier game This is Big 10 tourney. More tonight as they have Wisconsin

Snow moving later but the Doll made blueberry muffins deal with them first.

Airbrush? Surely I jest….am such a flake lately.

                • Good morning guys and all in coming crew. Thanks for opening up the lounge with a chat and cup of brew Rick.

Rick, talking about moving and boxes, takes me back to my Air Force days. The worst part of the military life. A lot of the military stayed in one place for years, or moved once or twice. Me on the other hand, they moved around every other year, the longest being 3 years at one place. When I got out I bought a home and swore to never move from it.

Everyone gave me good advice to stop watching TV Wars, but I can't seem to stay away from it. Very few modeling hours put it these days.

44 degrees and sunny here in Rhode Island today, so every day like this gets us closer to Spring. I'm for no more snow.

Everyone have a great, safe and healthy day ahead. I'll see you all on the RR-L Forum.

                  • Morning Gents,

Rick thanks for the cup-o-joe and the compliment. One thing is for sure you're
certainly getting quite the workout with the house.

Tom nice toys...enjoy and have fun.

Mike hope the Pods get finished up today so you can start getting settled.

Jerry have fun getting the "little guy" all groomed up.

Karl enjoy the muffins. Yup it's tourney time....Syracuse fell to Duke by about 5 points....no
surprise there. We'll see if they get asked to the "Big Dance" or not.

Ron how's things and when do you head back to the States?

Louis I'm with you...so over the yuk.

The rest of the Crew hope all's well in your world.

A cloudy 36 this morning with a high of 50 here in New York; come on Spring. Still waiting on the meds
for the cat; better be today before I get P**sed; need to get the wight loss to stop! Maybe some bench time
                    later.

Have a great day. Be well, get some rest, and turn off the TV.

                    • Good morning from after the PT visit. I am sore but it is supposed to be gone in another 13 minutes! We shall see.

Yesterday’s toys for the airbrushing and weather/paint benches will be getting organized today. That is the goal!

I am in the kitchen watching Terry bake cookies and brownies for a hockey tournament for the grandson tomorrow. This is unusual as usually I am not allowed in while baking is underway. I am not dipping my fingers into any dough and not voicing any opinions unless asked. 45 years of marriage and approaching 50 together, I have learned a thing or 2!

                      Enjoy your day

I’m required. TomO, to remove any excess batter or dough in our kitchen. 2-3 tablespoons if I’m lucky sure are fun. I’ve said many times that “one day” I’m going to buy a cake mix and mix it all up and get a big spoon and just sit and lick….chocolate chip cookie dough is my favorite. Little old blue haired lady at Sam’s club slapped my hand once when I tried to sneak a square of dough while she was demoing them….she was as upset as a modern day mask sheer.

                    • Karl,

I remember when my grandmother, then my mom and then my wife would offer me the mixer blades to clean off the excess. Unfortunately I have not done that for years. But, I was still at the counter and ALL alone when she took off to another area of the living quarters and my finger had to test the chocolate cookie dough. I told myself as diabetic that was only 1/2 a cookie and maybe 10 carbs. As soon as the finished cookies cooled down though, my sister and daughter were packaging 2 in a bag and then I was banished. 24 of 25 sheets of cookies x12 a sheet were packaged. The remaining sheet of 12 are in the freezer. Finally there were 2 sheets of brownies that I won’t and didn’t touch. Lots of baking in the kitchen today.

                      Tom

Rain, s$%#, and sleet, becoming all s!@# after 1pm. The s$%# could be heavy at times. Temperature falling to around 28 by 4pm. Breezy, with an east wind 5 to 10 mph becoming northwest 15 to 20 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 45 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total daytime s#$@ and sleet accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

                        Jerry, bench time?

Mike, hope the POD's showed up.

                        Karl, how were the muffins?

                        Ron, carpet shopping went well.

Louis, this should be the last big move I have to do.

Larry, this moving is better than a gym membership.

Tom, hope the soreness is gone.

I like cookie dough better than the finished product.
I remember my grandmother and mom saving me some dough when they made Christmas cookies.

Lowe's was the winner at carpet prices and they'll be out Friday to measure.

A really yucky day to start another week of work.
Things improve a lot weather wise starting Monday.

Muffins were quite good for a boxed mix.

                      • Good morning,

Rick, thanks for coffee. Congrats on the carpet choice. Maybe you'll have a few days for your sore muscles to heal. Good luck in the yuck.

Tom, hope the soreness went away.

Larry, that bench is looking good, uh, I mean the small one. Nice work.

                        Louis, what's on your bench?

Ron, we are in the same boat with Sweetie. Nails and hair need trimming once a month.

Karl, it's too late for snow shoveling. When will it stop in the mitten?

Jerry, how is the clapping going, aka, application of boards to form a clapboard exterior on a structure.

Well, the PODs weren't put on the schedule for delivery yesterday, but I finally reached someone on the phone who set it up. We now have the final two PODs. The unpackers come tomorrow. I need to fix the washing machine and hook up the dryer today. An electrician came by yesterday and gave us an estimate for adding outlets in the pantry, laundry room, garage and patio. Things are coming together. What the heck happened to the weather? It's 31F out headed to 20F and the wind is howling. Brrrr.

                        Have fun weekend folks,

                        • Good morning Rick, Mike, and all incoming crew. Thanks for opening up the lounge Dave for our daily chat and cup of brew. Best way to start off the day.

It is 47 degrees and raining this morning in Rhode Island.
After two nice days of the high 40's low 50's today we have to have the rain. After cancelling the Saint Patrick's Day Parade for the last two years, today is the first time it came back, and here we have to do it in the rain. What a shame.

Rick, this is hopefully your last big move, and the retirement will finish it all. Making it all good!

No modeling plans for today as of now Dave. We'll see what happens as the day goes forward.

Everyone have a great, safe and healthy day ahead. See you all on the RR-L Forum.

                          • Bright sun, 15ohere this morning. Some wind that’s making the feels like 0-4 degrees. I did have the snow blower operating yesterday, was a bit wet but the sun came out and by the end of the day all plowed surfaces had dried right off. TomO’s ex (weather gal) says chance of some lake effect snow bands with trace snow today and yet another overall snow overnight and then “much” warmer tomorrow and climbing through the week to 40-50-60 highs.

I let my thoughts get the best of me. Rick! Painting the walkways edges for the U-boat and the roof of a bus white.
Makes my back hurt to stand and do that long. I need to get a seated area to spray.

SPARTY advanced last evening, sending the Badgers home in a good game last night. Purdue will be a burden for them today.

Might get the paint department going again later.

Glad you found carpet, Rick. Hope they can get what you’ll need with no hassles.

We had a news letter from our Yooper electric coop yesterday. They were softening us up for a rate increase. One person said that the transformers they use have increased 140% to 160% with over 12 month lead times and no firm price until delivery. They’re ordering what they hope will get here in 2023. We were lucky to have done our place in 2020 just before the craziness that has seized our country in so many ways. The Doll’s brother told us of his sister in law that is building a new place East of Lansing waited several months for electricity due to the transformer availability.

The Doll has a post office trip this morning, more eBay success. My current 3 items I have listed have no activity yet. I have been paid, tho, for all I did sell.

Time to move along. Be well one and all.
