      Laying low!

  • Good morning Jerry and the rest of the crew that drops in later.

Thanks for the coffee and grub Jerry (although Quebec maple syrup is better than Vermont's )

    Very sad news about Mario.

    Tom, Crosby is a cutie.

Rick, Getting my work Vise renewed went without a hitch, I can work in the US now for the next three years.

Finished putting the base paint on both tractors last night and continued painting the steam engine. I'll post pictures tonight where you can see the tractors as brand new before I weather them.

    Have a great day everyone.

    • Good morning everyone.

Sunny, with a high near 48.

Jerry, thanks for the coffee and breakfast and have fun shopping.

Ron, congrats on the visa and I'll look for your pictures later.

Larry, hope you're enjoying some eggnog or hot chocolate while decorating.

Louis, hope you had a nice day yesterday.

Karl, hope there was nothing but good news at the Dr's.

Philip, Tom and Mike, hope you are all well.

Very sad news about Mario indeed.
      Very friendly and talented man.
Was lucky enough to meet with him in person a few times.
      He will be missed.

Slept later that usual (always a good thing).
Already had my coffee and bike ride.
Meal prep for the week after that.
      A visit with Mom later.
Have a few other things I want to do.
Time will tell if I get to them.

      Have a great day everyone.

      • Snow flying about this morning, with snow and or rain today's entertainment.

Doc said all ok, continue as before. No changes in managing my quirky lower system, ride the waves.

Some minor things to do today, so head to the breakfast table is first up. Mmm

Everyone have a good day. Mario will be missed, his shared information was always well worth the effort to check out.

        • Good morning folks,

Jerry, thanks for coffee and breakfast.

Indeed, sad news about Mario. He was a terrific modeler and all around nice guy. Who's gonna fill their shoes...

          Tom, I like your puppy.

Larry, careful taking down those lights.

Louis, hope you enjoy your day.

Rick, sounds like a routine day off. Enjoy your visit with your Mom.

Ron, congrats on the Visa. Looking forward to your photos.

Karl, congrats on the results from the doc.

Life is easy here at daughter's place. SIL put up Christmas lights and daughter decorated, so I am enjoying the season a bit more this year. Lots of inquiries on the Brazos home, so fingers crossed. The supply of homes here in Georgia is not as large as summer, but still there have been many that meet my needs, i.e., train room and shop. Will continue looking. Taking daughter for medical procedure today, otherwise, not much happening. Since I don't have a modeling bench, I've learning FreeCAD so I can progress from 2D to 3D CAD. So much to remember!

          Have fun and stay safe,
          mike

        • Morning!

Nothing new really. Doing a bit of house maintenance with this 60ish weather.

Indy my cat hasn't been home in two days. No sure but oh well, he was a free spirit in and out cat. Had him for 5 years.

Sad news about Mario. Hope his website stays with us. Some of the newer members may have missed out. Mario documented many modelers, perhaps some you may know.
          It is all here:

          • Good morning Rick, Karl, Mike, Philip, and all incoming crew. Thanks for opening the lounge Rick. I always look forward to our daily chat and cup of brew.

It is 40 degrees and sunny here in Rhode Island, the littlest State in the Union. We still holding back from that dreaded snow fall.

My railroad track Vacuum Boxcab is nearing its completed state. I enjoyed this build for many reasons.

Everyone have a great, safe and healthy day ahead. See you all on the RR-Line Forums.

Jerry thanks for the coffee and a tasty breakfast. Have fun shopping; we do all ours
online in our PJ's; sure beats fighting the crowds.

Ron congrats on getting the Visa easily. I'll have to differ with you though...New York State
Maple Syrup is the best. Looking forward to seeing your photos of your work.

Rick enjoy your days off and the visit with Mom. Hope is get some rest time in.

Mike nice to hear your life is much easier in Georgia and I'm sure the house in Texas will sell soon.
Have fun learning CAD; I'm not sure I could.

Philip don't work too hard on the house. We have a stray cat we feed that will disappear a week at
a time then he shows up again. Maybe Indy is just on a "walk about."

Louis your lucky not to have any snow yet so enjoy. Your project is one of a kind.

To the rest of the Crew hope you have a great day.

A chilly 30 this morning with a high of 36 later here in New York. Happy to report the Christmas
decorations are done; now it's on the wrapping and not like Snoop Dog. A few minor things to do
today then hopefully some bench time.

Yes NY has lots of Maple Trees and some Maple Syrup Festivals in the Spring during sap season.
I got enough of "silly people" when I worked at Wegmans, so I don't miss them a bit.

            • Good morning everyone.

Coffee, hot water for tea and an assortment of cold sodas are ready for your enjoyment.
I see Mike in the lounge too so maybe we'll have two different coffees to choose from.

Mostly cloudy, with a high near 50.

              Gonna keep it brief today.

I don't use any syrup on my pancakes so the rest of you can fight it out on which is best.

Doing the Dinky thing later and don't have anything planned before I go.

              Have a great day everyone.

              • Good morning folks,

                Rick, thanks for coffee.

Larry, hope you scored some bench time. Congrats on decoration completion.

Philip, may Indy find his way home after so much fun on the planet.

Louis, can't wait to see the vacuum photos. Careful that it doesn't suck up the spikes...

Jerry, did you finish shopping or more to do?

Karl and Ron, happy weekend to you, too.

It's another nice autumn day in Georgia. High today is around 75F. I'll take it. Planning on doing clothes shopping this afternoon. The movers packed all the clothes I had laid out to bring in the car. I wound up with two pairs of sweat pants, a sweat shirt, and a long sleeve tee. Might try out some of the local cuisine, too. During last week, we ate at Beirut, a Lebanese restaurant, and it was delicious. Maybe Thai today.

                Have fun and stay safe,
                mike

                • Good morning Rick, Mike and the rest of the crew that drops in later.

                  Thanks for the coffee Rick.

It's a cold (-10c 14F) and cloudy day here is southern Ontario, but no wind so the walk with Gracie this morning wasn't too bad.

Got the second coat of paint on the Bates tractor last night, looks much better now.

Have some shores around the house to do today, should be able to get to the bench tonight.

                  Have a great day everyone.

                  • Promised sunshine has arrived today. It’s frosty and 30 going to upper 30s.

Prep for traveling North is on the list for today. Much less packing these days is needed as we’ve supplies and clothes on hand at the bunker in the cedar swamp. Weather may postpone or delay the trip, time will tell later in the weekend.

Mike, it sounds like you have all the cloths a fellow needs these days. Maybe a well worn pair of bib overalls and a straw hat? The,food ventures sound like fun. My partner is unwilling to even consider anything outside the ordinary. Steak and potatoes. Not that those are bad but anything furrin’ ain’t cut tin’ it.

Enjoy the Dinky, Rick. Everyone else have a fine day.

It is a cold 34 degrees and Cloudy here in Rhode Island today.

Mike, thanks, during the decoder install and test run, the vacuum shows about half speed is more than enough vacuum pressure. And I'm impressed with how Quiet the fan motor is. I guess it could be another day of bench time. The vacuum boxcab is just about nearing its time at the bench.

Everyone have a great, safe and healthy day ahead. See you all on the RR-Line Forum.

Rick thanks for the cup-o-joe. Have fun with the "Dinky thing".

Mike I did score a little bench time yesterday and it's a relief to
have the house all decorated. Your wardrobe sounds about like
mine....simple. Good luck clothes shopping and enjoy a meal out.

Ron sounds a little chilly up there....Virginia weather should be a welcome relief.
I'll have to stop by and check out your projects.

Karl I can remember my grandfather only wore bib overalls along with an
engineers hat when he went outside. Enjoy the trip North and have safe travels.

Louis the Box Cab is looking awesome....enjoy finishing it up.

The rest of the Crew hope all's well in your world.

A chilly 34 this morning with a high of 43 here in New York. Not much going on here
after a few days of busy, busy. Time for bit of a break and some bench time later.

Have a wonderful day. Stay warn, be safe, and stay healthy.
