Hi Group.i ordered the Tichy wheels to make my own load, they arrived. Out of the blue a friend gave me the two I beams the wheels sit in .I would like to make the small attached pieces for these two i beams. Could somone share instruction sheet please. I looked on Tichy..everything other than this. Thanks.Steve...based on the fact i have a ton of Tichy wheels and plenty of flat cars i might see if Tichy sells the I Beam sprues on their own. That would be a treat.

The instructions were not that helpful, here they are. There were just flat pieces on the ends that were glued onto the I beams to hold them up off of the flatcar deck.
I also have the instructions of the Wheel Car PDF-compressed, sorry about the quality. These were the instructions that come with the kit.
Please let me know if you can read the PDF sent (link below last picture of wheel car).

These plates are like Angle Iron plates, holding up the I bean holding the wheels in place. There are two longer plates at the ends on each side, (Shown by circles) and two smaller plates in the mid section (Shown by arrows) on both sides of each I beam. I hope this helps and makes sense.

Wow Lou fantastic..again!.Ok i only have the I beams..friend happened to have them but i had a box of the Tichy wheels so was going to make something up.But now i have i beams. I looked at those supports in yellow.I thought i could use code 100 rail or 83 and cut up???, i think it would look good with i beam sitting on inside rail flange???.Now i am confused..a support on each I beam each corner so thats 4 and 4 in the middle two each side???Thanks for your help..what do you think...Each i beam sits on its OWN???..not joined together ???

The I beams have angle iron as shown by the yellow lines, each side of the two beams. The red lines are splice plates just for show, to look like two lengths of beam were joined together at the middle. Both I beams are separate, and stand on their own, separated by the width of the wheels.

Thanks Lou..ok i shall have to think what size L styrene i should order.Bit tricky but think i can do it.Flat stock does not give me the L for the bottom.SteveComment

With a simple jig made of a metal block (like the 1-2-3 blocks sold as machinist's tools) on a pane of glass and styrene solvent cement, you can make any 'L' angle shape you need.JamesComment

Steve, you can do as James said and make your own, or get Evergreen Scale Models Strip Styrene Angle #294 it is 1/8" (.125) (3.2mm).
I matched up this size angle with my wheel car part and they measure the same.

Steve, cut off half of one side of the angle for the foot that goes down on the flatcar. See red cut line on Angle package shown below.

I don't want to be a pain, but you could also get yourself an I Beam that is 1/8" tall, and cut off the top section. Then glue that to your wheel beam holder. That way you have a foot across the bottom of the upright for better support than the one side leg of the angle iron.
