  • Yorke's Pool hall and Bordello in O

Just gotten into O gauge from HOn3.
So this is the first O scale build getting started.
    Yorke's Pool hall & Bordello in 1:48.
I have built it in H0 before so I have some knowledge of how to build it.

It will be fun to test my skills on a kit in O scale!

Just remember that in O scale you can actually see where the details are missing and add them in to the model,
In a time like ours seemings and portents signify. Ours is a generation when dogs howl and the skin crawls on the skull with its beast's foreboding.

Michael, one of my fondest structures that I have yet to build. I will be following along as well.

The first job on the build was to clearcoat the walls.
I will not paint them untill the basic structures joints are filled and the build is solid.
I have dry assembled the basic structure with some dots of PVA to hold them in place.

The building goes together rather well, needed a 1/8" trim on the small back wall to fit.
Now to design the interior in CAD and 3D print it.

I've drawn up a basic saloon interior:

                    What do you guys think?
It's made to fit the kit.

I've made some changes following tips from someone in the US who knows a bit about this.

Now it's one "fancy wall" and a little more basic.
A barber chair in the corner.
Around the table I will have poker players
And of course a painting of a scantily clad lady on the wall behind the bar!

Sweet Mike! You should add saloon swinging doors. Kinda like these...

Very nice Graffen. Should be a work of art when you are done with it. I have some of these figures in HO which are pretty nice in detail and scale. The O scale versions should be awesome. Not sure if you have seen them or not.
