That HO version is fantastic, so I'm guessing that a larger version by you won't be any less outstanding. Looking forward to your build progress.

I happened to back up the K-27 to the three (!) other On 30 locomotives I had on the track, and it locked couplers without me noticing...
When I pulled away, it pulled the others as if there wasn't a load!!!
          Damn that's a powerful locomotive!

          Soooooo....
this On30 bug is really hitting hard!
          I just bought three (!?!) more locomotives. A C-16, a 2-6-0 and a 2-8-0!
          All with DCC and sound.
          Also some cars and accessories....
So, what can I say, other than HAPPY BIRTHMAS to me!
(I actually had a free birthday gift to claim from my wife, and Christmas is almost here....)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Nice locos and cars Michael; what is your minimum radius; because I've seen a video of one of the On30 K27's going around a 19 1/2" radius with no problems pulling a combine and string of coaches. I've also read that the reason it can negotiate this size radius is because it IS On30 and not On3. Apparently the narrower the gauge the smaller the minimum radius is.???
Please advise as I am thinking of getting one, and radius size is the determining factor.
                    Thanx,

Thanks! I use 22" minimum curves, and it can go thru them with no problems.

I have some Grandt line On3 passenger trucks that I decided to build.
I replaced the plastic On3 wheels with metal On30 wheels.

                    They run extremely smooth!
Now I'll have to build the car to fit on top of them....

Thanx so much for the info Michael, I bought one today from Southwest Narrow Gauge; WHEW!!!! they are expensive. And now I have to re-engineer the layout to expand the radii to 22" min. It's ok though, I've been contemplating doing some major changes anyway..... check out the BCRR page and I'll try to have more info there.
                        Thanx again for the help
