  • Another new RR-L look

Just opened RR-Line and found another new look. Glad to see our "Railroad-Line Forums logo" back in sight. The looks and reminder of our friend Mike Chambers. Thanks for that!

Noticed that when I was in the Crew Lounge. Ii got changed while I was posting.

I like it. Looks like the letters are larger/bigger. I like the red look too. Feels much more homey now.

One thing I've noticed of late is my tag line disappearing. I can get it back by going to the profile and reloading and saving again. Seems like it happens after the first post and never returns until I go back and save it again. I bet it's something on my end. Any ideas?

After editing this I see my tag line came back again. Must be some hokey pokey going on.

      Hi all,
I noticed it also first thing this morning. I like it a lot. I was going to say something, but that damn 403 forbidden buddy of mine kept eating my homework, so I got ticked again and bounced. I'm sure the forum gods are using protractors on this brain teaser-so I'm going to be on my best behavior until I join the rest of the country in going crazy!
      Thanx Thom....

Once again, Louis hits the proverbial nail square on the head for a one-shot drive. Like the new look, and am glad to see the familiar logo back!

          Tom,

I don't seem to be experiencing the dreaded 403. I do get it if I click on New Topics. That's about the only one I get the 403 on. Are you sure everything is copasetic on our end? Just wondering since you seem to have 403 pop up more than any of the other members. When does that happen to you. In other words what did you click on that took you to the 403?

Trying to help get you straightened out here so you can enjoy the forum better.

I'm still learning, that's why I have those two duplicate pictures.

                Hi George,

Yes, I've done that. I've played around with that and got it post the tag line. Here's what's happening. When I make a new post. either answering somebody else's or making a new post the tag line does not show up. If I click on "Edit" to edit the post and then click back on "Save" without making any changes or entering any letters, the tag line shows up. Could be on my end if the system or maybe how I have something set in my profile. Will check it out when I get a sec.

Post #8 right now does not show my tag line. I'm making this second post to see what happens. It's no biggy for me. It won't hamper my posting.

I was back in my Profile looking around. It must have reset the tag line because I can see then now also. Must be a small glitch somewhere. Hey it doesn't bother me.

                          B~,
Yeah, I'm hearing you on my buddy 403, I normally use several different browsers with the same result. I can go on a page or sign in or whatever, but if I use the back button or use the arrow for the next page of that thread I get the 403 pop up and then I clear the cookies and start over and maybe I get one more page deep and boom. ???

It's an nuisance more than anything. If I'm really wanting to catch up on a thread I can but I will be resetting my cookies two or three or four times while visiting. I'm up to date on all my browsers and no special protection programs (just norton). Hummm? I'm sure I'm not the only one this is happening too? Other than that, I'm more than happy with the new platform and have no issues with any topic or moving around (except for this 403 vax pastport) thing.

Well I'm hanging, something wonderful will happen here- I just know it. Something Wonderful Will Happen - YouTube

I still get it all the time. 3 or 4 times a day. I thought it was getting better, Sunday I didn't get it at all. Probably 95% of the time it's when I go to a post, then go to Forums, upper left corner, to get back to the forum list. Occasionally, it's when I'm on the last page of a thread and try to go to the previous page. I usually get a "can not connect to server" first, then 403.

I should have said "Forum", small type below "Today's Posts or New Topics", not the large tab above. I just realized there was 2 ways to get there. Maybe I'll try the other way for a while.

You don't see it when you make a post. If you leave the thread and go back you'll see it. A lot of little things to learn about the forum.
