Thank you gentlemen for the generous compliments.
These engines weren't mine to weather, but if I ever acquire two-four more sets of these decals (#87-358) I'll make more with plenty of rusty weathering and even more detailing.
Thanx Thom...

Super nice Thom, Prototype Monon's only looked that good until the second day of service. Excellent work!

Thank you Boyz for all the generous at-a-boy (s), much appreciated. I'm still getting used to the posting picture format here (seems every site has it's own method of posting), but I like this one here much better. For some reason tho I labeled all the pics here 1 thru in order in my file and when I uploaded it all the pics came up scrambled???, but I digress!
The models are for a customer. He wanted the models (f-7's) he had on hand to look like Monon's #83 set, but instead of having two F-3 A-units I did what I could to best represent with the parts I had on hand. He sent the diner car only as a reference to help with the colors and stripping.
I quickly found out (while doing my research) that the stripes, decals, colors all laid out different on these F-7's. The customer understood and didn't want to make an exact pair but rather a flavor overall. He didn't want any weathering and the car was Stripped down (no weight, no interior, no details applied) so I did a courtesy and put on the details and made the car a conversion car by adding a kadee coupler to one end only and left in the parts bag the other incase he wanted to add it later.
I must say These particular decals HO scale Microscale # 87-358 Monon F-3 diesels are REALLY hard to find and I would love to have a few more sets if anyone has any they like to sell me. As far as Monon goes. I think I like this color scheme more over the black and gold ones.
I hope this gives someone some ideas on their next f-unit flavors.
Thanx Thom...

Fantastic looking F Units Tom. Great modeling done there!
I wouldn't want to wake up to that cat though.

A beautiful job on these cars Tom.
Any plans on weathering or are you leaving them pristine?
Either way they look great.

Turning two F-7 undec kits into Monon F-3 # 83a/b set flavor (well lets pretend)...
Well I figured I'd practice posting some more pics again. This project is a little stretch, but hey! Not too much explaining here, I figure the pictures (while a bit out of order) explain most everything.
HO Scale BLI Paragon 3 F-7a/b kit set; Custom built, painted, lettered to reflect Monon #83a/b set. Many custom (plastic & brass parts) made on A-unit to closer #83a. 4 separate colors of paint (dark grey, light gray, red & black). Cab complete with paint and crew w/3 custom made visors. Both units carry rear winterization hatches, metal kadee couplers w/hoses. Standard factory Paragon 3 Dcc sound w/lights in A-unit only. Models assigned same 83 address. Now as far as I can figure, Monon didn't have real B-units even tho they ran paired up A-units together as a/b sets??? I figure I can do what I want just like our government right!
Thanx Thom...
