  • V&T Reno saved

I don't know about anyone else, but my introduction to early rail was an article in a magazine about the Virginia and Truckee, that included many photos of #11, the "Reno." I ended up finding a brass model of that loco (SL&N #1 :-) ) that I saved my allowance and bought back in 1971. Aafter a career in Hollywood, the Reno ended up at Old Tucson, where she was caught in a fire. Old Tucson pretty much let her sit outside and slowly (thanks to the AZ weather) rust away.

Well the great news is the owner of the modern V&T Railroad has bought the Reno, moved her to Nevada, and is hoping to restore her to operating condition!
