  • Ken, I thought my little 1/25 project was going to be easy compared to HO, but your raising the bar to a lofty height...great work :up:

    • Thanks, Gentlemen.

      Ken: Thanks, too, for pointing me in the direction of this Forum.

      The work shown here is just absolutley amazing. I guess I'll never

      get too far from my model RR roots after all.

      Frank: Most of the hand tools are from a Fujimi "Garage Tool" set;

      the pistons and cylinder head are white metal from "R&D Unique";

      the rest is just watch parts, scraps of paper and a few "Ozark

      Miniature" pieces.

      • Back in the day before trifoculs, HO used to be my favorite scale. Here's a little Woodland Scenics gas station from the archives:

        This model has been around for a while and some of the signage has deteriorated, but it's held up pretty well overall

        Thanks for looking,

        Ken

        • Ken,

          Thanks for the heads up on the 1:24 stuff. Great Woodland Scenics diorama. You made that crude kit look terrific!!!

            • Ken, Bruce is right, that is a lot of detail for such a tiny structure. Great job.

                Frank, there are a bunch of other aftermarket 1/24th scale people who make great diorama stuff. Check out Scale Equipment Limited, Model Car Garage and Detail Master, also. (I don't have their addresses right off the top of my head, but a Google search will turn them up.)

                • Ken,

                  I have that same kit, somewhere, waiting to be built. Your model is great with all the details!

                        • Ken Great job on the WS metal kit. I built that one a number of years ago. I like what you did with the interior.

                          • Scratchbuilt ? Yep .

                            By me ? Nope .

                            The infamous Karl O. built this one ....let me explain . I was over visiting Karl a few weeks back and he just 'happened' to have a beautiful stripwood swayback boxcar sitting on the kitchen table . A set up to be sure . So of course I had to have one and commissioned Sir Karl to build one . As you can plainly see it is a gem . It will take a prominent foreground spot on my HO layout ,count on it .Karl made everything except the nicely weathered trucks ,wheels and couplers .

                              BTW, I'm still looking for a copy of your book[:-ashamed]

                              TJ, thanks for the pics. Karl mentioned to me the other day he built you one. Great job as usual.

                                That swayback car is a beauty. Great job of rusting all the metal parts.
