    Well, just below is a link that will lead you to the final three entries of our "Gritty McDuff" contest, we'd like you to condifer stopping by, checking out all 6 entries, and taking a monent to decide which of the 6 modelers will get this years upcoming "Raglan Road" kit as a reward for their efforts.     It was a tough decision. Some great looking models, but after looking closely I chose one.


    Everyone of them did a great job :up: but I was really disappointed in the picture quality of most of them. The effects also took away from the build...just MHO

          Jim,

          Maybe on the next contest, you and Art could add a rule to eliminate any special effects in the photos. Like others have suggested, I found it difficult to really make a good decision because the effects hide much of the completed scene.

          Again, just MHO

            I have seen the contest photos with & without special effects. I think the special effects distracted from the end photos. I hope it did not hurt their chances. Just my opinion.

                I casted my vote based on the photos that were posted, they all look great.

                I think Bar Mills has set a new standard for others. Having a contest is a great idea and it helps inpires modelers to build the kits. I did not enter this year, but I did build the kit, I just need to finih the diorama. Seeing these photo's will help in that endeavor.

                  Ok...I closed the voting...First I'd like to say it's been an amazing turnout...about 160 people voted! I got together a rough count and kinda ran into a dilema..I left work at 5:00 and the vote was actually tied! Wasn't sure what to do...never though it would actually happen...Art had to go into the hospital today and was getting some tests and I was 'spose to call him and tell him the results before anouncing it. I told him it was tied and he suggested waiting a little and taking some more votes...then I remembered!...I was on EST and it was OK to do this!...We got a few more votes and it broke the tie...( I took them until 5:00 PST) I'm gonna wait till tomorrow to announce it because I want to count them one more time (you know...the whole Bush-Gore thing...) But I will do it first thing tomorrow.

                  I think it's great that it came out this close... it really shows the quality of the models being built ...congrats to everyone who entered, because it was not only close to the First and Second place winners, but all the way across the board!....
