  • Craft Paints on Sale this week

Michael's has Apple Barrel Acrylic Craft Paints (2 once bottles) on sale through this weekend for 50 cents a bottle. That's a pretty good price.

I also bought on of their Spinner Paint Racks that holds 160 of the 2 oz. bottles. It's regular $29.95 but with the 40% OFF coupon it was only $18. If you don't have the coupon just tell the cashier you want the 40% discount and they will let you sign for it with out the actual coupon.

Thanks for the heads up, Walt. And those spinner racks are well worth the money to keep all the bottles organized. I bought one a couple of years ago with a 50% coupon at Michaels, and it's nice to have the colors organized where I can see what I have.

That rack sounds like a good deal, Walt. I looked at it a couple of times in the past, but didn't want to spend the money either time. The 40%-off coupon makes it a little more affordable. I think I probably have enough 2 oz bottles from Apple Barrel, Folk Art, Ceramcoat, and American Heritage to fill up one of those racks now. [:I][:I]

Speaking of organization, Eddie, I took a Sharpie Ultra-fine marker and wrote the name of the color on the cap of each bottle. That really helps finding what I want when all I can see is the cap. I took this photo a couple of years ago after I had put some of my paints in a "tote box."

        Speaking of paints . . .

I was at Michael's last night looking for something to store my good brushes. I could buy a canvas roll-up case for $12.99 but they had a twenty piece brush set with case for $6.99. Believe me, the brushes leave little to be desired but the case isn't that bad.

I figure I'll use the el-cheapos for A&I washes and pushing around weathering powders.

Mike: I'd have to dip my finger in the paint and put my fingerprint on the cap. You must have that Al Borland knack for discerning "kumquat" from "Honeydew". I, on the other hand, would be calling it "green" and "other green"

Regarding discounts, Hobby Lobby has a 40% coupon you can download from the internet before you head to the store. I've used it a couple times to get things like my new Aztek airbrush "sticker" at $169 out the door at $100+ change. Michael's doesn't have a downloadable coupon but has one in the Sunday paper around here usually.

          I recently did just that!
