    Does this look like wood ?

    I don't know if this is useful info to anyone , but in fooling around with a piece of PoP , I dragged a wire brush across it a couple of times and brushed it with an alcohol / ink wash ....I thought it looked pretty good unless the grain is too big for HO scale . I'll maybe keep it in mind for my ON30 diorama .

    Terry, that looks like heavily weathered creosoted wood to me. I think it has possibilities! :up:

        TJ, You can also do that to foam and ceiling tiles to make them look like strata rock!

                  I think I may give it try down the road in my ON30 diorama .It should be in an area that isn't handled much since the PoP is very fragile .The picture could be better ...the piece is not that dark . I may try a couple of other washes and show the results . I think the grain is too big for HO but maybe I'm getting too technical .
