Can't help with home made, but have you seen the RailDriver Desktop Cab Control on(raildriver.com)? I'm just starting with sims and if I like them, perhaps I can train smuggle the unit past my wife.

homemade control for Train Sim????
Anyone had any success at building a homemade interface? The cheap dirty ideas Ive had are to take an old keyboard and do a interface thru it...Switch contacts would be all that would be required.......anythings better than the keyboard controls....
