  • Pictures!__This train was Flyin'

I caught this picture ( As the train passed me at about 100 mph (or however fast that thing goes...)) in Old Saybrook, CT. The station has a pizza place with an HO layout that goes around the top. Neat place to visit! As the train was approaching, I was not prepared, & didn't know what to expect. Lets just say it scared the heck out of me as it past! It really does go quite fast! It doesn't stop at this station! JIMMY

    Hi Jimmy

Great picture. That is the Acela on its way to Boston or New York depending where you are standing.

The railroad station is new within the past year

and was built by Amtrak as part of the agreement with the state of Connecticut for high speed rail service.

The pizza restaurant is located in the old railroad station and the layout was constructed by a local resident.

While it may have seemed like 100 mph it was probably more like 60 mph through the station.

    Again a great picture.
