  • Yesssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For some months now I have been hunting ebay for a British Intercity 125 HST set in early Blue and yellow livery. Unfortunately they are not that common over here and the few that I have bid on recently have gone well over what I would consider to be a reasonable price.

A few days ago I found a set with no power car (the sets come with one power car and one dummy) but one extra coach, I snagged it for a very reasonable price.

Tonight, I was browsing through the latest listings looking for a matching power car and adding some possibilities to my watch list when I suddenly came across a listing for a complete 125 set in the later "Swallow" livery that still fits in with my era that had only just been listed with a "buy it now" far lower than they have been selling for recently.

After I had sat there drooling over it for a couple of minutes thinking there was no way I could justify it at the moment this sweet little voice next to me said "so buy it!"

Anyway, I'm still looking for the power car but I should soon have me another set to add to my layout!

Occasionally you can find a bargain on ebay, you just have to be there at the right time!

Mike, One thing I don't do is knock eBay. I've made some good sales and some good buys on there.

I just picked up a medical centrifuge for under $100 that I will convert into a spin caster for white metal and resin parts. The commercial units go for between 10 and 20 grand. Even these units sell at 1500 to 5,000 in good used shape. I've already got originals from a model manufacture out in California sitting on my desk. He wants me to do his production runs. Not sure that's where I want to go but it's interesting none the less.

One thing I've noticed is the ending day and time can sometimes enter into the equation.
