I'm modeling a Progress Rail Service railcar repair facility in Amarillo...

Course, I also emailed the company to see if I couldn't get a better logo graphic, as the one on their website is too small to be of any real value. Never heard from 'em, the bastages, so I created one myself to the best of my ability.

Been there... Not a friendly bunch...

No Snap-On screwdrivers were handed out as a consequence of their "gruff" and "I couldn't care less--I hate this #@&$% job anyway..." attitude. Now the Los Angeles Junction RY, after I gave the guy a screwdriver, he pretty much did everything but let me take a loco out for a spin... It's amazing what a little bribe can do...

I do have some shots of the LAJ shop area if you would like to see how a class 2 does the job...

Thanks so much, Mike! I have been to the RITS before, and I never seen those photos. Thanks for pointing them out to me.

I was looking for a modern type of facility though. I run modern diesels, so I was interested in a modern diesel shop. I did a search, and I may have come up with a few. I am gonna take a look and let you know what I found. Thanks again.

    NYCandHR,

Your UP link was of great help too! Thanks so much!

Aha, a fellow Rock fan. Good to meet you.

I think I see your dilemma now - you wanna model a railroad-owned facility, rather than a third party. I have a couple other ROCK fans I chat with on a regular basis, I'll see what I can do for you.

    Mike,

Nice site you have! I am currently painting up some shells with the "blue bankrupt" scheme, and doing a pure white THE ROCK scheme for my own RI units.

However, for my BN diesels, the RR doesn't exist anymore, and I have been to the BNSF site, and they don't really have links to any shops of theirs. Likewise for the RI line.

    Thanks though.

Don't know if this will help, but you might wanna check online at the companies who really provide this service - they might have pics of their facilities. I'm modeling a Progress Rail Service railcar repair facility in Amarillo, and did the same to get an idea of what they look like; even what colors they tend to be.

    diesel shop pics

    Hey all,

I am on a quest to build a large-sized diesel repair area on my HO layout. I mainly model CB&Q, BN, RI , ATSF, BNSF, and MOPAC motive power. I was wondering if anyone on the list had any access to good detail photos showing inside and out what diesel shops look like, so I would have something to go by or get ideas from.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks so much.
