    Greetings, fellow ROCK fans.

It has come to my attention that my birthday is coming up in a couple of months, and the one thing I'd really like to ask for is a Rock Island steam engine, in HO scale. I model 1980, but this would be more used for excursions and the like.

Anybody have any ideas who makes a good Rock Island steam locomotive???? The more axles the better as far as I'm concerned.id='Georgia'>

Proto or IHC - IHC has the ones with the most axles. Although the 4-8-2 is no longer available directly from IHC. Might look around some internet shops of LHS for though. The IHC 2-6-0 is also not available. That leaves you with the 0-6-0 from Proto or the 4-6-2 from IHC which is only available as a train set but is currently half price on IHC's site. Unless Rivarossi makes some the only other selection would be Bachmann. I believe they had 3 different RI models the last time I looked.
