  • Hey,Russ. Nuther boxcab

Here' some pix of the newest little critter outta the GVR backshops,it ain't done yet but she's a roller.

This little critter is done in 0n30.Except for the mechanism(KATO NW-2) and the grille(Athearn Hustler) everything is scratchbuilt.

Since I had most of this project just laying around I have less than $5.00 in this project so far.

Now I need to do a caboose to go with her,and maybe some freight cars too.

Oh yeah, the little part, she's 24' long over the footboards

I see that you have been busy again Catt. I love it! I think that it would look at home on a nice mountain RR. That one has to be huge compared to the N-scale version!

Depends on your point of view.In actual size this one is huge compared to the other one,If they were both the same scale this one would be tiny though.

The Nscale boxcab is over 40' long whereas this one in O scale is 24' long over the footboards.I have 3 Bachmann GE mechs (1 centercab and 2 70 tonners) not sure if I want more boxcabs or a couple centercabs.

                  Looks great!!

Reminds me of a logging speeder. Some of those things were really big.

At 24' this little gal ain't very big.If I were into logging this would be a speeder but since I'm not we'll just call her an oil-electric boxcab. After this one is finished I'm gonna do some critters (4 wheel lokies)I have two Bachmann 70 tonners and one 44 tonner to play with (the older style with two motor/power truck). The B&O had an electric boxcab that was 15'long(replaced one that was 12'long),it was standard gauge.

By the way ,I haven't come up with a colour scheme yet for the GVR narrow gauge division.Anybody got any suggestions.I've pretty much decided on black body with red/maroon roofs for the steam but have no ideas at all for the diesels ,passenger, and freight cars.
