I think I will come clean! I am a former N Scaler that just happens to be in H.O. for the time being-note the time being! I still keep up with N Scale and read and reply to the N Scale forums.

    Welcome to the forum Bruce!

I also look at the N gauge forum from time to time.

After all I spent some 25 years modeling N gauge before going up.

I still have some N gauge, but it is in the shape of Nm. That is metre gauge using Z gauge track. It is Swiss. If more of it comes out then I might go back to it again but the trouble is that some firms use 12 Volts and some are 9 Volts. Oh well, can't win them all.

      Welcome Bruce.

Well, the saga continues. I had another "adventure" at Atlas this morning (In the HO forum, for you N-scalers). It will be my last "adventure" there because I have no intention of ever returning.

I'll describe what happened after I've cooled down. Unfortunately, it involved someone whom a few of us welcomed to this forum just yesterday. My mistake, I guess.

He surprised me when he showed up here yesterday and then went back and complained about Lou and a few others, that's why I made my post there!! You are with friends here!!

            Hi Mike C.,

We appreciate you over here...try to calm down...life's too short to let others upset you. It's his (and their) loss!

              Thanks Phil and Debbie.

It was bad enough when he claimed that I had posted "some more of that slamming junk from Missouri." But when he reposted later and accused me of being a "victim" of the news media and "biased" and "spreading false junk"... well, I nearly came unglued. But he also totally ignored all published fact - including the fact that most of the merchants packed up and left his mall (thereby effectively shutting down the mall for good) because of gang-related activites and a high crime rate. But I did not respond to his second posting, and I won't.

Interestingly enough, I received emails yesterday afternoon from two of the other posters in that particular thread. Both apologized for the way I was "treated," but one also asked me to "overlook the insults." I don't think so.

As Dylan wrote back in '66, "You don't need a weatherman to tell you which way the wind's blowing." I could see which way the wind was blowing there, and I didn't like the smoke and ashes from the fire. So I'm finished with Atlas Forums. I know there's a lot of good people there, but as always all it takes is one or two bad ones to ruin it for everybody else.

Well, that's all I've got to say about it. End of story. The crappie are really biting; think I'll mosey down to the dock and do a little fishing this morning.

Hey Mike, I am glad you are here. I always enjoy your morning donut barbs. There are some things we do need to 'let go of' even though it can take time. I have always found the best way to get over a personal insult is to share your feelings with those you trust. A similar incident happened to me recently when my pastor, of all people, questioned my 'problem' with his authority and refusal to submit to it, especially having been an AF officer for 24 years. During those AF years I learned that good officers serve the men in their command and win their loyalty while never demanding their submission. I told my 'former now' pastor this and resigned from the church; then shared everything I felt with a good friend. He just listened, and I feel much better and can 'move on'. Have a superb weekend, er, STRONG BEGINNING!!!. Never did like that term 'weak end.'

Thanks, Don. I appreciate the words of advice.

I got in a little fishing this morning and got the yard mowed. Yesterday's unpleasantness is already in my rear view mirror.

                    Hey, MikeC.

Why are you such a troublemaker in the Atlas forum? You should be ashamed of yourself.

Don't let it bother you. Take it from me. I'm an expert. I've been argued with, talked about, laughed at, ridiculed, criticized, humiliated, picked on, suspended, and banned from every English-speaking forum in the galaxy (except this one).

And I'm just getting WARMED UP!!!!!

                    Lou.

                      Hi Mike,

I have read your post since your 'Day One' on RR-L. They have been and continue to be (not in any order) entertaining, informative, authoritative, educational, humorous, helpful, and laid back. One thing you do not post is vituperation.

Atlas' loss is most certainly our gain.

I am honored to call you friend,..... even if you are from Missouri.

is the fishing getting pretty good up there? i might have to dust off my boat (for the first time in 2 years) and do some fishing. never been to the lake of the ozarks yet.

i read that topic today, and the comments by that other guy were completely uncalled for.

Fishing at the Lake of the Ozarks is usually pretty good, especially at this time of the year. We've got over 1100 miles of shoreline, and everything from crappie to walleye. The bass fishing is so good that there are several tournaments held here each year, including a couple of nationals in the fall and spring.

During the summer the fishing pretty well plays out, though, as the fish head for deep water, and the Captain Wannabes tear up the water with their 40' - 65' off-shore boats.

You ought to give it a try, Trainworm
