I will have to note that paint color. And I think we'll just leave it at 'current' and 'inbound' for now. Anything more and things will really start to get crazy.
I have found a good ROCK blue paint. I get the glossy Testors light blue code1208. I apply the white layer first, and then let dry. I then mask for the blue and apply that layer. I add any touch-ups that are needed and then put the shell aside. If I add any detail parts, I usually paint them after they have been applied to the shell.
I paint the chassis usually a mixture of brown/gray/black colors and then await the decals. After the decals arrive I add them, and then apply the weathering to the shell and chassis. I spray the whole thing with Testors Dullcoat, and it seals everything in and also dulls the glossy light blue to something I am VERY happy with.
Anyhow, do you also want the planned list, or are you just looking for current inventory right now? Rumor has it that the MWDLRR is going to acquire two GP40-2s to add to the ROCK INTERMODAL fleet. They also have enroute for delivery, in October, two brand new Wide-cab DASH-9s for their new coal unit train contract with Galaxon Mining.
Once the site is up, you will be able to read about the railroad's mergers, acquisitions, and leasing operations.
Very kewl, wolv. I have a couple of the Athearn GP38-2's, and am thinking about getting another two or so (I also have an Athearn SD40-2 inbound, I love the big porches on those puppies).
My GP38-2's are numbered 4310 (original Athearn number), and 4346. I got the Microscale decals, they work great. I love that these units have nicknames.
MMmm....yes yes been eyeing those puppies myself......but my eBay budget has been overexceeded the last couple of months, trying to avoid it for a while
What boggles me is the little research the loco manufacturers do, while they want $50US+ for their locos, while Microscale provides encyclopedias worth of info on each of their decal sets for only $5.
If and when the money is there you can bet I'll get each F7A Genesis RI scheme. And should I get lucky and win the lottery (fat chance since I don't play) I'll get the F7A/7B sets, too. Problem is I keep buying all those RI hoppers (only 3 more P2K to go and I'll have them all). And I have to get the new GP18 releases from P2K and the GP40 from Atlas and when will it end... if I'm lucky never.
And that leads to the question - who of us is gonna fork over all that cash to get the new Athearn Genesis F7 A/B set in Rocket scheme ???? It's expensive, but should be one great loco set!
I'm trying to decide, myself ..... I have the Stewart in Freight Red & Black .... and E8A and E6A in Passenger Rocket colors ... and I already have the GP18 on order, which I DO need ... BUT ....
No new additions or changes at this time, although there will be some road number changes over the next few months. I've got enuf RI locos for now, so I'm concentrating on my layout, and rolling stock et al.
