There are many of us who have been waiting for years now to see the K4 1361 under steam again. Progress has been slow. Dead lines have come and gone.Well looks like we will be waiting a little longer. I really dought the k4 will be ready for Railfest in Oct. Here is the progress so far.-New backhead formed and installed.-Frame restoration almost complete.-Stay bolts being manufactured.-Brake parts are being finished.-Wheels are being refurbished at the TV RR. Tender work to begin soon.--Mark--

BTW You restortion people may find this interesting.At last Octobers meeting at the Altoona RR museum it was reported that 1361's drivers were MISSING,gone. New ones were being fabricated.I hope the wheels or tender don't go missing!-Mark-id='Stencil'>id=size4>

Drivers were missing?!? Where could 80-inch wheels just walk away to...??? It's still good news that new drivers are being made; I'd like to see the 1361 with boxpoks, like some K-4s had...

Wheels are accounted for. They are at the Tennessee valley RR Museum for refurb.I guess Steamtown could not do it. Its the drive "Rods" that are missing.Sorry I should have been more specific-Mark-
