    Yeah it looks like it would just sit there spinning it's wheels huh! In reality, it's the only one Baldwin made because their little "experiment" flopped. Darn thing had a penchant for going on little forays off the rails! The McCloud finally made two 0-6-0s out of it!

    Yeah, I think I've heard of that one from a fellow (Boone Morrison) that models the NPC. Ever see the oddball 0-6-6-0T that the McCloud River RR had? Check it out! www.mp1.com/collection/mcr1 then click on the McCloud index and look at ol' #6!!

    Thr North Pacific Coast, a narrow gauge railroad in California had a 3' gauge 4-4-0 oil fired cab-forward using a marine 'water tube' boiler around the turn of the century.

    Hi Dennis,

    According to F. M. Whyte's loco classification the SP was the only RR to have the Cab Forwards -- 2-8-8-2, 4-6-6-2, and 4-8-8-2.

    Does anyone know of another RR that used their steamers "backwards"? I know why SP did it but it sure looks "distinctive" shall we say?
