  • Watching the Barrett-Jackson Auction

    Since I'm into cars , I marvel at the B-J auction from time to time ......all wishful thinking , of course .

    Tonight a MODEL came up for auction . It was a 3/8 scale mid 50's Pontiac Concept Car working model powered by the starter motor from a full size automobile .

    Oh , the price ? 75 as in 75K as in 75 LARGE !

    So... did you bid on it? I can understand if you didn't since it isn't a Mustang!

      Some guy paid over $200,000 for a car for his mother! I am assuming he has already bought her a house.

      Wish I could afford that.

        Isn't the muscle car auction this weekend?

        I can't get the auction anymore. They took Speed off C-Band and put it on Ku[!] So I need to climb up on the roof and upgrade my dish...maybe when it's a little warmer

        Enjoy T...

          The key words are "50s Concept Car". That is why it brought the high price with collectors.

              Just think of the layout that you could have if ya had that kind of money? Heck If I had that kind of money Ft.Wayne would have a good place for a MRR club! Kevin

                I didn't see Leno . There was an elderly gentleman sitting in the front row , a lovely lady on EACH side of him , and the three were having a great time as "Mr Whitehair" kept bidding and winning various cars . Ah , the good life .

                        Probably young enough to be his daughters or grand daughters.

                        I might trade places with him if you twisted my arm! ;

                          Last 67 Corvette just went for $600,000 and the announcer called car collecting a hobby!

                          We are in great company. Although I don't have quite that much in my hobby!

                              The old 'shoulda-coulda' !

                              I had a '74 Vette that I bought in '78 for $6K ...drove it for 5 years and sold it for $7K . I guess I wasn't thinking too far ahead in those days .
