    James, I am both a scratchbuilder and a devote in the use of styrene and I can say that your

    wife has done a marvelous job. I agree, teach her to airbrush (although that is not really

    required, paint brushes still work), she deserves to have the entire model build to her credit.

    I am also an old "New Englander" and I love those NE style structures.

    WELL DONE!!

      Thanks, Bob and Rick. Pete, she's more sensitive to smells etc. than me and I don't have any acrylic paint anymore - it all dried up in the bottle after I learned to use it. Also, it wouldn't be fair (or good for the layout) to start her out on one of these houses. She'll sit with me while I do them and we'll see.

      Here's 180 High St., the Pettingill-Fowler house. From 1906 to 1956 it housed the Historical Society of Old Newbury. Then the International Order of Odd Fellows took it over. When this photo was taken, I think it was single family but now I believe it's been condo-ized.



      Here's her model in progress:



      We're making a road trip, but when we return we should have a Tichy package which will move this forward.

                        She built 180 High's roof, so I had to get on the stick and start a foundation. I'm using drywall screws to simplify leveling. She also finished the structure of 40 Washington St.:



                        It will be stuck in the back as long as this layout lasts. Here's a view looking uphill:



                        And she came upstairs to see how 180 High looked in its final location:



                        Seashore track work doesn't really start till Wednesday this week, so I can airbrush the roofs and sidewalk, then do more scenery and foundations tomorrow.

                          These look fabulous, James, and once again I'd like to recommend the simple paintbrush to keep these structures as "hers" down the road. Any brush marks left on the roof will probably be invisible anyway, but will add to the "weathering" process. And she won't have to wait on you and Seashore to see results!

                          And... ... neither will we!

                                That's a great row of houses. It's rare to see that many structures on a layout that are based on prototypes. Very well done!
