  • Saturday morning lounge

Good morning all from cloudy and 36f N.E.Indiana. A little rain overnight has decreased the snow cover in many areas, A lot of brown grass appearing. The coffee urn is READY with Conductor's blend. The special is an egg, sausage, cheese, and potato frittata. A little salsa if you want to spice it up a little. Oatmeal if you aren't into trying something different.

Looks like a low key day on the schedule here. A trip to the local lumber yard to pick up that sheet of 2" foam, and maybe a little shop time.

That's the schedule for the day.

    Have a Super day!

Good morning, Jim and crew. It's another wet day in Tidewater Virginia.

I don't have any specific plans for the day either. We may be going out for lunch. We're waiting for a call from out daughter. I'm sure I'll be at the workbench for a while.

    Have a good day.

Good morning from sunny So. Central Wisconsin. It is 31f degrees it feels like 31 per the weather app heading to 47. Our snow packing is thinning out but it still looks like 2’ or more out in the yard where it did not drift. We’ve received quite an accumulation this season.

Jim, thanks for opening. Take the Brink’s truck if you are buying the 2” foam which at this time is special order at our HD. Crazy.

I looked into the trainroom yesterday and if anything was accomplished, I don’t remember it.

Today, actually any minute now the granddaughter will be here. The brother has 3 hockey games today. The neighbor is in the girls State Basketball final 4. So the SIL and g/s will be att hockey all day. The daughter is heading about 1 hour further to see the 1st basketball game. The neighbor is the head coach and won in 2016 division one which is our most populated schools. She is also coaching her daughter, a sophomore this year. This is a quicker return to finals then the neighbor coach was xpecting. 5 freshmen, 6 sophomores and 1 junior and no seniors. This should be fun. The g/d and I will start the day with bread making. I haven’t made any bread in a few months. I am hoping to avoid the pool today. I have an easy chocolate and toffee recipe for cookies today and they are Harper’s favorite.

      Enjoy the day

Sun later should take care of the 1 inch of snow we had in the night, 5 am was quite heavy fall, it's going to get us to sunny after a bit. 50 tomorrow, so it's said.

Trip to pickup the Doll's car at the son's shop is our only plan.

        Everyone enjoy the day.

Good morning to the entire crew. It is 36 degrees and heading up to 46 under cloudy skies. We still have total snow cover, but it is getting less deep.

We got our first vaccine shot yesterday. It was the Moderna version. No reaction to the first shot - no surprises there. Back for the second shot in a month.

I have four different 'virtual cliics' to give to three different Divisions over the next few weeks. Time to update the content of each a bit. One is new and about 3/4ths done. So some this this weekend will be spent on that task. I also hope to get some modeling time in.

          Have a great day!

Good morning, all. It's been snowing on the NH seacoast since about 8, maybe an inch by now. It's supposed to turn to rain later. I got my 1st (pfizer) yesterday, no significant reaction. I glanced at the card the medic gave me and thought 'oh, my name's mangled again'. But when I looked again at home, I found someone else's birthday. His name is probably almost as unique as mine, so I'm pretty sure I found him about 10 miles away. I've left a message in hopes he got my card and we can swap. If not, I will budget an hour or three during business hours next week for phone tag getting it fixed. Paid my bills yesterday, will burn my brush pile and prune the orchard tomorrow, so after I browse the forums, up to the attic.

James provided our weather report, more Sugaring Weather... Dogs like a small amount of snow, between sniffing and biting/eating it.

I think this weekend's major task in the train room will be a major clean up/pick up/put away. :-(

                Good afternoon, All!

It's 43 with actual sunshine here in the northern mitten, with a wind chill at 35 that is well enough above freezing to be friendly. But the Really Good news is that I just saw a little clump of green in the little patch of soil surrounded by the white blanket in my front yard, so I walked out to look at it and found a clump of crocus shoots about three inches tall. There is hope....

Still haven't found my lawn, though, but the more I think about it, the more I think I probably left it outside last fall.... Time will tell.

Need to get at several projects on the railroad this weekend, including finishing up the bridge project so I can have my Main Line back, but the sunshine is calling, so....

Make it a great day, All, and stay safe!

Pete, you'll find your lawn just in time to start mowing it...
